Seriously if youre not "super" picky, Vegas can be done on the cheap. We're going for 72 hours of boozing/relaxing.
We got a room at the Vdara. A SUITE at the Vdara. Five-star, new hotel. Not a casino and right off the strip, but right in the middle.
$100 a night each. That is crazy.
I've never been so I'm pretty stoked.

Apparently I am getting internet installed in my apartment next Saturday, which is fortunate, since it means I won't have to take one of my paid leave days to deal with it.
Unfortunately, that Saturday is my main JHS's school festival, which I have been asked to attend (read: it is expected)!
I would say it is a difficult problem, but I value the internet more than my job, so I won't be rescheduling.

mystery games like CoC are the absolute worst to try and wing it. With something like D&D, if you need to stall for time, orcs attack! But it's really hard to improvise clues and red herrings and so forth.

In her absence I became friends with the girl that works next to her in the office. She is cool and not crazy and honestly I dont even think Im romantically interested but I know it drives her up the wall.

I definitely agree. Honestly I'd say unless you are an INCREDIBLY strong DM you should run purchased pre-made adventures for CoC, and mostly work on tweaking those adventures for your party (don't be scared to go off the rails either) and linking these separate adventures into a cohesive narrative.
