One of the things I love to do every year is pick up a few new dice/board/card games for the house while I'm at Pax. I especially like to grab games that I hadn't heard of or can't find locally to me. This year we picked up:
We Didn't Playtest this Either - we have the first game, grabbed the expansion this year which came with blue cards and the dice expansion as well. My wife teaches kids hospitalized for mental issues (ie depression, drug abuse, ADHD regulation, etc) and her high school age kids LOVE the game so grabbing expansion was required. I'm sure they'll be thrilled with the addition.
Dragon Dice - I sat down and played a demo and it seems like a great fit for me and my son to play together. We have too many games that aren't fun until you get 3 or 4 people involved, so a one on one game is a nice change.
Square Shooters - One of my wife's favorite games ever is a game called Sharp Shooters which is like yatzee but with varying challenges and poker chips for scoring. This feels like that - with the added benefit that the dice can be used for dozens of other games. I picked up the deluxe kid with extra chips, dice cup and score cards.
What did every one else pick up?

Otherwise, I found lots of stuff to watch out for in the future. I'm super interested in Contrast, The Swapper, Outlast, and a shitload other indie games.

I bought a bunch of iOS games when I got home as well. I wished more booths had QR codes set up so it was easy to download the games right then and there, instead of going through all the cards and flyers I picked up. Pwn, Color Sheep, Spaceteam, Major Magnet, Ridiculous Fishing, just to name a few. I haven't been able to get on Steam yet, but I'll be downloading more stuff there tonight
I also bought bioshock infinite while walking from my phone, the future rules.
I'm retro gaming it up.
We also checked out Munchkin and plan on buying a copy later.
Did anyone check out Mercs? That looked pretty damn cool and the concept of why there were parts of the card cut out to help with blast radii from things like grenades was pretty ingenious. I didn't get a chance to play it, though.
"Ray's the Dead" looked very promising though the devs said another 12 months unfortunately. Pikmin with Zombies!

Additionally I picked up the Dread sourcebook along with the Murderous Ghosts book. I really could have dropped so much more money than I did...everything was so pretty and tempting.
Also Can't wait for Ray's The Dead. Absolutely psyched to buy that when it comes out. The demo was great, plus the second cousin once removed from Stubbs needs to be a part of my family

Ray's the Dead was pretty fun... like another take on Pikmin, and I mean that in a good way.

Also grabbed a copy of a game we picked initially based on the box-art and timing - Scrumbrawl. Super light and silly, and will probably be a drinking game :P
I also picked up the Penny Arcade and The Guild expansion cards to Munchkins.

I picked up
- Marvel : Legacy
- Dominion : Intrigue
- Netrunner : Android
- Arkham Horror
- Ascension : 2 player version
I'm mostly proud of the last three grabs as I got them at 30% discount and saved quite a bit. I did not risk it with Marvel : Legacy since only a few retailers kept it in stock
My wife is out of town this coming weekend so I think I'm going to take him to a tabletop day event nearby, maybe we'll grab a copy assuming they have one. We still don't have any Munchkins or Fluxxs either. Is there any place folks recommend for good board game reviews?
I think the same guy got me hooked too. Did he have everything imaginable laying out, with a pretty sweet vinyl playmat that looked like the death star?
I ended up ordering the X-Wing Core Set, and the Y-Wing and Tie Advanced online. I picked up Sutakku while I was there which was a really fun push your luck game and an impulse buy. I also ordered Roll Through the Ages after player it there.
A friend of mine purchased Innovation and the Lord of the Rings LCG while she was there, along with Sutakku too. Then she added Hacienda and Tsuro of the Seas to my CSI order so we'd both get free shipping.
Am I the only person who played games at the library and just ordered them from CSI if I liked them? The wonders of free wifi. The prices at the con were a bit outragious. Especially on something like the X-Wing core set which can be had online for $15 under retail, and even brick and mortars like Target have it at a discount.
- Flame War
- Drinking Quest 2
- Luigi's Mansion
- CAH Expansion 3
- Zombie Dice Expansion
In addition I also picked up Mice & Mystics, which I had played before and enjoyed. $50 show price meant it was matching online prices for the game, and being able to get it then and there without shipping (and having a chance to play a couple of chapters during the weekend), was great on top of having the money go straight to the publisher rather than through a reseller.
Tons more I would have picked up, but the weekend was expensive enough as it was

Played a demo of Ascension, then just had to get this one afterwards. Even picked up the original to have more pieces.
My friend is a screen printer, so he said he'll print out a bad ass layout for us to use. We figured we'd just play with the 2 core sets for the time being before going all out on the expansions. Unfortunately, we only get to hang out once a week (silly kids take up a lot of time, but worth it), so I'm not sure how often we'll be playing.
We also discussed the idea of having the asteroids moving 1 movement per turn. Obviously that would create an insane amount of havoc, but it would definitely spice things up a bit more once we got good at X Wing; it'd be like calling your next shots in pool where it just makes it more challenging.
Sorry about ranting. I'm still going through PAX withdrawals.
