All book spoilers
Cat:
ignorant of the damage she causes, but loses the war for her son and gets everyone killed just the same
Cersei:
definition of a spiteful bitch
Ruins everything
Sets the realm up for a savior to swoop in and stop the madness
Littlefinger:
the true villain of the series
He would rather have chaos and rule than peace and a lesser position. Nobody is paying him any attention now, that is BAD
Varys:
Originally wanted the hidden dragon prince to be set up to rule since he was groomed for birth at it.
He kept Robert alive only because Joff was Satan. Wants the realm to win, hates magic. Would like Dany possibly, but his birds don't reach her anymore.
Dany:
I like her better in the show. The books make her indecisive and just swoon too often.
Jon Snow
The fuck just happened?
Good thing Melisandre is nearby!

But it's
Lysa who hospital-banged him and made him believe Cat actually did love him after all
finger convinced lysa to kill her husband then said that tyrion owned the dagger from the merc. All to sow chaos and set the lannisters against the Starks while being innocent.
It is also implied that finger convinced Joff to kill Stark instead of sparing him.
Hell, finger probably knew the dagger's true origins and surmised that it was Joff who had it done anyway.

varys had to know dany was actually going to be the important one, she was gifted the dragon eggs not viserys they probably didn't plan on drogo dying but viserys? I imagine they had an idea he would screw something up since by their own standards he is not fit to rule, eve if he is a tarygan.

And talking about cat, major spoilers:
her fuckups:
Letting little finger live.
Arranging her 16 year old son into marriage for the balance of the war without having him meet the daughters.
Letting Jaime go for her daughters instead of keeping him hostage to win a war.
Starting a war on the flimsy word of Littlefinger. Seriously. The hell.
Sending Sansa to king's landing.
Not staying dead.
She is nowhere near as bad as Cersei, even when it comes to her kids.

Dance of Dragons Epilogue:
I think it's obvious that Varys is looking ahead, and he sees Tommen as a weak and ineffectual ruler who will be horrible for the realm and at the mercy of the noblefolk, and feel that it is his right to rule.
He feels the hidden Targ son has been groomed properly to rule, so he wants Kings Landing in disarray long enough for Dorne and Targ to unite and bring their full force together before Lannister and Highgarden realize what the fuck is happening.
That's the point, he wants lasting peace, and another war is about to start regardless of what he does. He just chops the head off the lion to make it easier for the dragon and snake to move in.
Tyrion is really the only one who sees the whole damn picture and realizes that the sigil is a three headed dragon for a purpose and Drogon chose Dany so the other two dragons are going to need riders...
It isn't about one marriage one rule, it's about the three riders.

While kind-hearted, Dany is not that great of a ruler.

While kind-hearted, Dany is not that great of a ruler.
At least she knows that and is tryin'
She cares for the weak and the downtrodden, she just doesn't know how to do any politics that aren't murdering her enemies
Hopefully she'll realize she needs to put together a council of people to shore up her weaknesses. Dany combined with the politcial know how of Tyrion and Varys could be a very effective ruler.
Of course that's Too Prefect and as such will never happen.

Can someone point out to me the 'important lines that people miss' in Feast for Crows or whatnot? I have it on my ipad so it's a bit hard to just flip through and find it, and I can search important words or phrases really easy.

I read feast of crows while they failed to put an NG tube in, including where they put it down a lung while I was vomitting and gave me pnemuonia. So between that and the extreme amount of pain meds I hardly remember the nitty gritty of the chapters.
Just that I loathe any chapter heading that says
Brienne
from now until the end of my days.

I watched The Amazing Spider-Man while having my stomach pumped and it genuinely ruined having my stomach pumped forever.

I've never had an NG tube fail to go down before, I'd had 3 in the past.
They failed twice, and it took X-Ray an hour to show up to say "You hit lung" while I was dry heaving, vomitting, and retching.
It was almost as bad as Tron: Legacy.

Too much of it was the same damn thing in a different place. I liked it when she wasn't asking the question to whatever peasant. When new people were introduced and scenery wasn't chewed, it was better than other parts.
(all book spoilers and show spoilers)
More like Ironboring.
The series is setting up to skip all that stuff because as neat and as worldbuilding as it is, not a whole lot happens over the course of two books.
And, if you recall, in the show Quarth is already in ruins and the 13 are dead and the merchant who cries a lot in the books is locked in the vault.
Dany's original journey in Quarth was quite...slow compared to the show, with exception of the prophecies and the warlock tower. They changed a lot of Dany's story, and added Reek's story too. With some major changes. I read all of Dance of Dragons, Reek doesn't get his favorite toy taken away and his sister doesn't win at taking him back. He's her key to overthrowing the kingmoot though, remember? And King Greyjoy is gonna have to die thanks to the leech from the bastard.
Who is a different bastard from the books, and one who certainly wouldn't trust the men without banners enough to give them the Maid of Tarth this time around.
The show has to handle a lot of things a lot different, and I wonder if it foreshadowed some things happening in book six already. Because in the show, Quarth is out of the picture, done. And we don't have the big huge mclargechest to eat the locusts this time.

Last I see of him in dance of dragons he's running away with Jeyne and hasn't been caught if the letter is to be believed. I don't recall any mention of Reek being gelded.

Last I see of him in dance of dragons he's running away with Jeyne and hasn't been caught if the letter is to be believed. I don't recall any mention of Reek being gelded.
It happened off screen in between the last time we saw Theon and the beginning of Dance. There are several references to the fact that he's "not a man" anymore and when Ramsay orders him to "service" Jeyne in order to get her ready for him he is confused and asks "how?"
While kind-hearted, Dany is not that great of a ruler.
you know how Aegon the Conqueror specifically designed the Iron Throne to be uncomfortable because "no king should sit easy"?
Dany keeps asking for pillows for her throne
Actually I think the Aegon's reasoning for that is more implied to actually be that kings can be killed and dethroned more easily than anyone is actually willing to admit, and therefore they need to be on their guard. Of course I might just be being cynical.
A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.
what happens in winterfell next is going to be the best part of book 6, already calling it
The whole of Book 6 is going to be spent in the Eyrie. The Eyrie kitchens. With an entire cast of new characters. Any plot developments elsewhere will simply be told to them by a footman. It ends with them putting together a great feast where nothing happens and then the chef gets a pet dog.

i bet they made that shit up to try and play up their dumb banners
unless you mean the Tully trout in which case, yeah, they could have at least chosen a Pike or something
nobody has a shittier sigil than House Blackbar, though:
there is a severe deficit of creativity in Bandallon
-Indiana Solo, runner of blades
yeah i saw a fish and went "tully"
also a 4 ft pike jumping out of the water, gills flared open is a scary thing man.
