Dollhouse' original pilot was much better than what we got, basically it condensed the "doll role of the week" of the first 5 into a single episode
I mean it was still rough as hell and had issues, but what Fox forced him to do sucked
The two episodes Fox basically had no say in, Epitaph 1 and the original pilot are prolly the best of the series (available on the dvd/br)
Dollhouse had a few great episodes. "A Spy In The House of Love", any episode with Alpha, "Haunted", "Belle Chose", "The Public Eye", "The Left Hand", "Getting Closer" and "The Hollow Men."

This is a Whedon show with characters created for the show specifically. Whedon has a penchant for doing terrible things unceremoniously to his characters. This is especially true for Whedon romances, they always end tragically.
Basically I trust the writers and am pretty certain that while it'll start off at a slow burn, we are in for some interesting things in the future. Also, Summer Glau needs to show up and be Evelyn Necker. With her introduction, they could introduce Project Pegasus and the Deathshead Robots.

Pilot was decent enough, but I think I'll just let the next few episodes gather on the DVR then watch them in a big block. I'm just not used to watching Whedon shows not Netflix style. During the original run of Dollhouse I never made it through episode 2, then after it died I ended up watching it all and am so glad, because the two Epitaphs blew my mind.
yeah the entire run wasn't too bad, I did not like the premise at all but it all paid off in the end just for 4-5 episodes of the whole run.
For a show as heavily promoted as this one, 12 million is probably a bit of a disappointment, but that's what they get for putting it up against the #1 drama on TV, which was kind of stupid.
Eh, 8PM gets you a much larger audience age-range wise, and while this show clearly isnt aimed at elementary school children its easier to get them to watch a show at 8PM than it is to get them to watch one at 9. Although I guess they could tweak what day it was on, but I have no idea what airs when so.

When you first meet Fitz/Simmons and before you know their names, theyre arguing around some boxes and Fitz complains about the treatment of his guns which apparently fire sub dermal something something bullets.
I assume theyre hoping to make this show all about cross promotion, and at the very least its working on me - Ive bumped the Iron Man 3 movie to the top of my Netflix queue and then became disappointed to learn that I cant stream the first two. I can stream Captain America though, so I'll probably do that.

how does the amount of seasons matter in this equation? NCIS sure got a lot of seasons and has no Summer Glau. how is this better than 2/3rds of a season of Firefly?
apparently Cheers was also the bomb. and Saved By The Bell was just short of Angel and Parker Lewis was worse than SBTB? in what universe does this make sense?

I watched it on my XBox with Hulu Plus. It became available within about 12 hours of broadcast. Not sure if it is also on regular Hulu.

If this were an original Joss Whedon show, you might be right. But it's not.
