there's absolutely no way he's doing post-graduate studies, writing books, starring in big films, and doing art exhibits all at the same time. i'm 100% sure he's a fraud.
also he has a dumb face
i don't think he's a fraud
i think he's definitely parroting a lot of work that scholars have already done
also did you read his poetry?
it was bad
isn't this what everyone at uni does?
ain't no one interested in the opinions of under-grads
they want you to select an opinion of a published academic and write about that
this is what people do who just want a decent grade
the difference between an actual scholar and someone who has a degree is that they contribute to research
hmmm, now i want to read my thesis on judaism, exile, and modernism in zukofsky's poem beginning the
all the research definitely helped me enter the poem more but i'm not sure if anything new was said
then again i was 22 years old
maybe this is a different culture thing
but in my experience in uni people who try to put their own opinions on a paper without having a published academic with an identical opinion to cite tend to fail
I'm sure James Franco legitimately does all of those things, he's just not very good at any of them
He's not holding himself out as anything more than a dilettante
(Spring Break Forever)
Yeah, James Franco's stuff is remarkably not-great. I would call them vanity projects, but he's not exactly asking people to look at them. He's just a guy with the money to cater to his own whims.
Yeah, it's awesome. I'm struggling a bit this quarter, but I'll soldier through. But yeah, I'm learning a lot, and making good connections, so I'm pretty happy with the program.

I feel like there are enough kinds of edible animal parts to not ever have to bother with the liver, or really any organs. I am sure they have their qualities, but I am perfectly ok with not eating it.
Well, MAYBE I could be persuaded into trying a hearty brain stew...
This seems incredibly wasteful.
Eh, there are uses for offal that isn't eating them. You can render them down into fertilizer for instance.

I'm pretty sure Radio Shack is a mob front.
I haven't spent money at one, possibly, in my entire lifetime. I've been inside one maybe five times. I don't know anyone who does shop there for anything.
Yet, they're everywhere. They even had a Super Bowl commercial.

Wouldn't the organs be some of the more nutritious bits, though?
They can be. But they can also be some of the most toxic bits. Deer liver can contain levels of mercury that is unsafe. Boar kidneys and liver can also have dangerous levels of mercury and other heavy metals. But the bits that make them nutritious also makes them excellent fertilizer. So you render them, extract the metals and you get perfectly usable fertilizer.
Flexcoin, which proclaimed itself to be the "world's first bitcoin bank" and the solver of "nearly every problem that exists with the Bitcoin currency today," says it has shut down after a robbery. An attacker made off with 896 bitcoins, the equivalent of about $620,000 at today's exchange rates.
You don't say.
A statement on Flexcoin's website read as follows:
On March 2nd 2014 Flexcoin was attacked and robbed of all coins in the hot wallet. The attacker made off with 896 BTC, dividing them into these two addresses:
1NDkevapt4SWYFEmquCDBSf7DLMTNVggdu
1QFcC5JitGwpFKqRDd9QNH3eGN56dCNgy6
As Flexcoin does not have the resources, assets, or otherwise to come back from this loss, we are closing our doors immediately.
Sure, but those coins still have their full value. No central bank robbing them of their worth by inflation. Not in my world.

To me he comes off as someone who just seems to coast through things. I mean, he was alright in some things I saw which wasn't a lot but I liked him in the first Spider-Man movie.
Then I saw him host the Oscars with Anne Hathaway and wondered if he had hotboxed his limo before the show.

This varies pretty strongly by subject and by institution at the undergraduate level.
In the arts it's generally expected, in the social sciences whether you'll be taken seriously depends on how much confidence your lecturer has in your grasp of the prevailing state of current thinking in your subject, in the hard sciences boy howdy you better have some serious data and/or compelling mathematical reasoning to back you up if what you're suggesting contradicts the established view.
