yeah, loads. Left about 18 months ago. Some people I will be desperately trying to avoid, some I do want to catch up with but don't know if I want to take time out from having sex to do so.
edit: to be clear, there are people there who will be horrendously hurt if I come to town and don't say 'hi'. But ... seriously if I caught up with everyone I knew there, I would have no time for actually seeing the person I'm going there to see.
In that case, I would recommend the quick email the night before you leave saying along the lines of, "I'm just in town for a few days and am jam-packed [heh] with stuff to do, but if any of you want to come to (BAR) for a few hours, I will be there just for a bit." Then have a small reunion, hug friends, get liquored up, and go back to your bouncy bouncy time.
I'm confused. So what if they are? Let them be. You don't have to see them anymore.
I mean, it's your life and your background and not my business, but going out of your way to include annoying people sounds like something you don't have to waste your time doing.
I gotta negotiate some social logistics. It's hard making an extended booty call in the same small university town you spent four years. Do I tell people I'm coming? what if I run into them? what if I'm trying to score free concert tickets off them?
Before I got to the rest of this post I honestly thought "man, she's a lot closer to her friends that I am."
Hey guys what's the etiquette of taking someone else's laundry out of the machine because it's done and they're not around and I need the machine
I can give it like 20 minutes and then take it out, right?
Their basket is there, I'll even put it in there for them

This situation is very high up there on the list of reasons why I love having my own washer/dryer.

As long as you're polite and put it in the basket instead of on the floor, do it right away. Seriously. Less work for them AND you get to do your laundry, plus they're the rude ones for not removing their laundry promptly anyhow.

maybe as a cunning disguise I go as myself.

they're just emotionally incredibly draining. It's a tradeoff. Takes a lot of energy to see them.
