True...but apparently the price/GB is a little better if you buy an external and rip out the drive. Still, personally, for my money, I'd rather get a regular ol' internal HDD (just got a 1TB Seagate for my PS4 and was a little surprised to find out that the stock drive in the PS4 is the 500GB little brother of what I got as an upgrade).
It would be so much easier if the PS4 supported USB storage.
At least PS4's run on standard hard drives and SATA ports, meaning something like this is totally 100% an option. And something I'll think about when 2TBs becomes not enough for me.
I'm going to have to consider that too I think. I have 1TB in my PS4. When I checked yesterday, I had like 300GB left. I don't THINK I have a bunch of games for it. They just happen to take up an ass-ton of space per game.
Of course I could just delete the install data for a game I don't need to play right now. But that's crazy talk, m i rite?

I'd much rather have the option of using a standard internal SATA drive than plug an external one via USB. Slow USB is slow.
The SATA 2 connection the PS4 & Xbone uses is slower than USB 3.0. Putting stuff on a external USB 3.0 drives actually makes Xbone games load faster compared to the internal drive.

I thought that was crazy, but it's true.
USB 3.0 is technically faster but in reality, the results vary. That said, it doesn't really matter. The Xbone's internal drive is bottlenecked by the speed of the drive (5400rpm), not the SATA connection. If you noticed that an external drive was loading games faster then it was probably the external drive itself, not the connection.
Also 4 is the first game in the series where you play as multiple protagonists, which means a lot of them are new to the series too.
Yeah, which makes it a good jumping in point. And if you go through all the recaps, the different perspectives on Kiryu in the game make him look that much more badass.

So, no surprises, really. The Complete Season is available for Life is Strange, but as far as I can tell, there's no discount if you bought the first episode and if you did and buy that, the game is more than just the season. Obviously. I dunno if that'll be fixed, but it's Squeenix so this is probably working as intended.
The Playstation Plus lineup has shifted for the new month and yes, as everyone has said, Yakuza 4 is a perfectly good place to jump into the games because there is a complete recap of the first three games in video format available from one of the opening menus. If you had the wealth of options, I would personally prefer to play 3 first because you get to play as Kazuma the entire game and, well, he's the main character of the series. 4 is the better game of the two by far, however, so get in on that. Otherwise, if you didn't buy Rogue Legacy already, here's your chance to grab it and it is the only Cross-Buy game of the group, spanning all three systems. Transistor seems a bit mixed, skewing towards positive consensus and Apotheon just looks neat.
What's in the Resident Evil franchise pack? Also, is Colonial Marines ok at $20? I know it's a failure as an Aliens game, but is it a decent FPS after the patches they've released?
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
oh, usb 3.0 on ps4, sure, ok.
but usb 2 on PS3 eeew
AMusingly enough this is a feature that goes back a long way with PlayStation hardware (at least, unofficially).
If you have a softmodded PS2 but no network adapter/IDE hard drive setup (or if you're stuck with a slim with no option for a hard drive) you can suffer through playing PS2 games over USB 1.1 if you really want to.

20 bucks still seems like too much for it. I'll bet you can find it for 5 with some leg work.

Someone on Gaf said that Yakuza was like Shenmue. Is this true?
Why have I never played a Yakuza if this is the case?!?!?
Yup. It's a pretty seamless transition from Shenmue to Yakuza.
They share some similarities but come on, seamless transition? What? One is an adventure game with RPG and fighting elements, the other is brawler with RPG elements. They're two different games.
Shenmue was a dang snoozefest. Saying Yakuza is like Shenmue makes me terribly uninterested in the series...
Don't worry, it isn't. All the "just like Shenmue" comments are misleading. Yakuza's all about the fighting, with the mini-games just optional things on the side.
Anyway, I have most of the games on the PS+ list but I'm looking forward to Apotheon. And I guess I might finally find out how bad Thief really is as well.

Basically a Lost Planet spin off. It looks fun but the reason they won't localize it is kind of funny.

Im not 100% in love with the controls.
Yeah. I only played about 30 minutes or so, but I was very impressed with what I saw.
I always had issues with the wireless download speeds on my PS3. Are you plugged in?
Yeah, NEVER use PS3 Wifi if ethernet is an option. It's like night and day.
Nope, everything is wireless in my house.
The PS4 download speeds seem to be much better.
