Hammer is an autoattack hero, but she and Abathur need to plan their builds together because otherwise Abathur will just be a passive attack speed buff since he can't stab anyone while Hammer is sieged up in the back line
Ok so now I have 80k I bought ETC and Muradin for Tanks, Valla and Illidan for Assassins, Lili and Brightwing for Support, and Sylvanas and Zagara for Specialists.
The rest of the warriors are tend to have higher cooldown, don't hit hard enough to command attention, or like Tyreal don't have a direction to the theme.
The rest of the assassins are sorta meh for how fights go these days. Jaina is good in theory but as I do Quickmatch alot there's usually no one to protect me, so I'd get blown up. Thrall is pretty good, but not rated very high since he can be blown up if he doesn't get his first heal off (however in QM I can murder people consistently with a slightly less cookie cutter build). I need to try Kael out in a free week to see if he's better or worse than Jaina.
Supports.......eh. Malf never felt like he had alot of impact, Tyrande got changed around enough and without Stitches for the combo, I already have the better choices. Uther is good if you take cleanse and shield and such, but then you have no impact since you have no damage at all or the short cooldown on the stun after the revamp. Tass fell out of favor. Rehgar can be good, he'd probably be my next pick.
Specialists, ha. Gaz sucks, Aba mostly sucks. Naz can be good but doesn't pack nearly as much punch anymore, much better options elsewhere. Azmodan is fun, but not played very much. Az's lack of mobility hurts him alot but his skill set is solid. TLV require alot more work and it's usually not worth it when I can just wreck everyone with Sylv and Zag. Murky is just plain fun, I'm jsut not sure if it's 10k gold of fun yet.
Feel free to tell me how I'm wrong, because somewhere I probably am.
Warrior: No expert opinion here, though good Tyraels and Diablos both seem ridiculously commanding.
Assassin: personal preference. I do like Thrall, esp. because he is both good with good teamwork on both sides, or can punish a game of 10 individuals. Valla is my top try-hard assassin, though Kael may be after he drops to 10K.
Support: Rehgar. Reasonably tough, reasonably good anti-hero potential, to include winning a lot of 1v1s, great ult. The key is that the shield on lightning shield at level 7 is mandatory, and if you want to be a threat, lunge and focused attack are important, though not mandatory for all playstyles.
Specialists: I've had a lot of Murky success recently, with the caveat that you can occasionally get destroyed by a bad comp. You already have the two most generically good / powerful specialists.
Gonna add my 2 cents in here as well.
Right now I'd say the top 4 Warriors (in no particular order) are Muradin, ETC, Diablo, and Anub'arak. All four are great, really can't go wrong with them. Tyrael's decent, but somewhat lacking outside of Judgment.

He lost the ability to hurt people.
Worse then that, he lost the giant aoe stun on a short-ish cooldown.
I just watched a TLV gameplay vid to see if I could learn to be less inept with them (probably not since my problem is my stupid fingers). Apparently there is a way to pick talents without clicking?

Ctrl + the number of the talent, in order top to bottom.
He requires a very specific comp/playstyle that simply does not slot in well with the typical tank, healer, 2-3 ish dps (and/or specialist/utility support) meta. It's a very arrogant, selfish pick particularly in draft when people pick him regardless of any other picks so far . On maps like blackheart's bay, spider tomb, or dragon shrine where you need actual bodies in the field for objectives he leaves you at a significant disadvantage.
We had an Abathur today who either had allied chat off or was simply ignoring us for the entire match, which we lost of course.
I'll always hate him, no matter what.
On the right map, with the right comp, against the right enemy team, I think Abathur has a solid place. A good Illidan, backed by double supports and a slug hat, is next to impossible to kill, and can easily dismantle an entire team. Having said that, its an "all your eggs in one basket" kind of a strategy, and that's not really my style. There are too many ways to disrupt that kind of a team, if you can anticipate one forming. But that's not my issue with Abathur - not really; my issue with Abathur is almost always with the players who pick him, for the exact same reasons that @Alucard6986 already stated: its an arrogant, selfish pick, particularly in draft, when people pick him regardless of any other picks.
When someone wants to play an Abathur, they almost never say to everyone, "Hey, I'd like to play Abathur this match, would you help me draft an Aba-friendly team?" I mean, that never happens. A vast majority of the time, someone will shadow Abathur as their draft pick, and everyone else on their team will say, "Not Aba, please", and then state why they think he's a poor choice in the scenario that's forming for whatever reason. And in literally every case I've witnessed so far, the Abathur player gives no fucks and picks him anyway, leading to losses in almost every case.
I really do wish the game had more autoattack focused characters. Someone with slow meaty attacks with a passive similar to Arthas (next auto hits harder).
Raynor's probably the closest we have at this stage, but in my opinion, he's still too weak to be viable. And I like Raynor quite a bit, actually. Always have. He just doesn't have that oomph that a number of other assassins have. Like Jaina and Kael'thas, he has no real mobility in combat, so proper positioning is key, but unlike the two mages, Raynor can't erase teams with burst damage. His trait is a good one, I think. I always liked the Advanced Optic talent, and I was glad when they made it standard. But having said that, he really cannot harass in the early game the way I imagined he'd be able to, and that's unfortunate. Raynor deals respectable single-target damage, but his rivals are wiping whole teams, and so I think he's in a really weak place right now.

Raynor's Q-focused build can totally delete people from a game. But it takes a long time to get rolling properly and it's still just a single-target thing.

And don't say Nova since she's more about shooting off a high damage skill followed up with a single auto and running away. You can't hat a Nova!
Valla with manticore.
But a good valla stays on the outside of the fight.
Just played a game as Raynor. He just makes me wish I was playing Tychus instead. By the end of a game Tychus's damage is just so much better. The grenade is a great skill. Sure his range is shorter but Odin fixes that or if you are using the laser it zones way better than Hyperion.
Top it off with levels Tychus gains more survivable with first aid and stone skin.

I still think Raynor needs some more work.
I play him as a Specialist that happens to also shoot mans sometimes. His improved bribe and merc lord mostly.
Raynor isn't all that bad, you just need to know his strengths.
1) He has superior range
2) He has a knockback that keeps enemies in above mentioned range
3) He has a team buff
4) He's got a auto heal, making him more tanky than most ranged assassins
Hyperion is better used as siege but also can be used to zone
Banshees are pretty decent single target damage

I just realized... would focused attack actually be really good on Raynor since he basically has an always-up attack speed buff? Or is the benefit of those crits still to negligible to really help?
(They'd need to buff his attack damage again before he really becomes a good AAer again, probably, but it's an idea)

To be fair, most assassins don't erase teams like Jaina and KT.
Finished up the 8 game bounty, 6-2, not bad. Still rank 10. 60 k gold.
The games I lost were not a mystery. On BB we had a lot of missed turn ins where we'd get wiped and lose all our coins. Often when the enemy etc would mosh, their brightwing would polymorph me (Diablo) before I could apoc to interrupt it.
Sky temple was just a mess. We had Abathur, and the live bodies that we did have couldn't move/initiate as a team, so we'd get picked off one by one after we had been winning until 10. I was jaina opposite a Hunt Illidan on the other team so I was dead in the water with no front line, though Ice block might have helped a little if I remembered to grab it.
Thanks to the Pallytime video I now get Kerrigan. Damn she is fun when you get rolling with her. The Ultralisk is a blast. Blow up dudes with a good combo just feels excellent.
Sad I won't get her and Nazeebo to 5 this week for the money but not a big deal. I have 14 characters. I should grind a few of them past 8.
Raynor's biggest issue for me is he lacks an escape of any decent kind
I find his emergency heal and Q more than enough for usual escapes. I play far enough back that I can beat it if need be, and I've got the extra health kicking in if I'm being peppered on the way out.

Can you link the vid? I tried Kerrigan for the first time this week (didn't get her to 5... maybe one game away) and I actually enjoyed her quite a bit. Didn't get mushed like I usually do with assassins and actually managed to stick with a pretty aggressive playstyle for a few matches.... might be a purchase down the road after I've played Murky and Illidan to see if they're heroes I like (I think they're the only two I haven't played yet outside of Try mode).
So I've determined that you should almost never try to give any advice on anything in hero league. It just paints a giant target on you to be blamed if anything at all doesnt work out heh.

People take advice as a personal insult to their skill, even if you present it in a positive manner. Offering friendly advice just isn't worth the headache it causes.
It's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. If you don't offer the advice, they will continue to make the mistake and possibly bring the team down. If you do give the advice, they will resent you, flame you, pout, and throw the game.
Still a bit wary of buying chapions and I jsut hit 120k in gold.
Six pigs?
I mean...I can't even imagine having that much gold and not having spent at least some of it. It exists for 3 purposes (at the moment), heroes, heroes master skins and that pig. You can buy enough heroes that even if half of them get nerfed the other half probably got buffed
Gold exists to be spent. I could understand saving 15k for the next hero, but any more than 20k is just going to waste. Blizzard is never going to release multiple heroes at the same time.

So many fucking worthless laser-heavy Gazlowes these days, fuck.
Laser is actually not completely worthless if you take the quick charge now. It adds another spike of damage to the grav bomb combo.

(I haven't played him too recently, basing this off the fact that the things that made him generally good weren't touched with the nerf.)

Also like the stun he can get on his Q. Works nicely to set up combos with other characters. (Like, say, Kael. I call this one "skeet shooting.")
