I finally bit the bullet and organized my collection today
had to just use rubber bands for my basics but everything else is sorted into boxes and all my standard stuff is consolidated into one long box
feels good
One thing I discovered is that this new 2-set Block structure means that a full Block fits perfectly into the Ultra-Pro binder that I won at the prerelease.
So right now my plan is just to buy (Or win) a new binder each Block and fill it out accordingly (sorted by Set-Rarity-Color-Name) up to 4 copies of a card since that's what it holds.
Not sure what to do with extra draft chaff yet. Probably will just get boxes and stuff em in that until I have enough for Bulk selling.
A nice thing about being new to paper Magic is that I can start being organized NOW, and it's easier to keep it up.
Once Shadows hits, I'll probably just buy a smaller binder to carry tradebait in that can be returned to its home binder as needed.
storm utilizes the mechanic "Storm". when you play a spell with storm, it is copied for every spell played before it that turn
most storm decks are looking to combo a series of spells (and of course, storm counts the copies of spells made by the storm mechanic earlier that turn) in order to kill the opponent with
to be more specific, storm is a combo deck built around Tendrils of Agony. It wins by casting a mass of spells that generate mana (called "rituals" after Dark Ritual), mana-producing artifacts like Lion's Eye Diamond, and other cheap or free spells in order to build the storm count up to the point where they can kill their opponent with a single Tendrils
storm decks usually also have an alternate win condition with Empty the Warrens, which is a storm card that produces two goblin tokens per storm count. So you create a mass of goblins and win via beatdown
warrens is also the alternate win con for The Best Deck Ever™, belcher

Also notable, the Storm ability triggers on casting the key spell, so countering it won't stop any of the copies (and might create another copy, if you do it before the Storm ability resolves).
You can stop it with something like Stifle, but that's pretty narrow and easy to avoid.
another issue at play here is that this is a make-or-break tournament for a lot of people in regards to making the scg players championship so they're more likely to play out games that they have a 1% chance to win rather than concede
standard is actually shockingly diverse right now in spite of the prevalence of jace
i don't like it right now because i don't like high power four colour formats, but the meme has been that the standard is solved from day 1 just play dark jeskai or abzan aggro and that is decisively not the case
personally I don't think miracles vs lands being boring is a symptom of legacy being a bad format so much as it is more proof that control mirrors aren't fun to watch

temur delver is still the fun police

How did that third game go?
that would be grixis delver and miracles
pretty close until delver stopped flooding out
temur delver blows up your lands and beats you to death with 1 mana 3 power creatures while you can't do anything and you die on turn 4

Its on for me
I'm watching it right now
it doesn't really need the top to be a good deck thanks to a bunch of deck manipulation cards, top just makes it dumb as hell
Well that was my problem, I was on starcitygames not scglive !
Is Eli Kassis using a horribly miscut Polluted Delta? That's rad if so.
