Sunday: technically correct, the best kind of correct
Well i mean, even when i've been employed lately i don't have saturday or sunday off, so the term weekend means nothing to me. But from knowing that sunday was the first day of the week i've managed to not completely lose my mind in the floating ether that is existing.

In the Season 4 premiere of Buffy, she had to fight a vampire named Sunday.
Sunday was given an odd amount of prominence despite dying in that same episode. It was rumored that in an earlier draft she was going to have been a Slayer that had been turned into a vampire and was going to hang around for a while longer before the main plot of the season took over.
There was also going to be a fight with Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, but it turned out they were all working to take down the vampires as well, and the whole thing felt kind of fever dreamy, so they cut it.
Sunday: technically correct, the best kind of correct
The DMY stuff I can at least see why someone would use, but never would I think to see such madness as starting a week on Monday just because that's when work starts. Is everything defined by your job then? Do your days start at 9 am? Have you sold your very souls to your capitalist overlords?
Larlar: should definitely have a day of the week named after him
Solomon Grundy,
Born on a Larlar,
Christened on Larlar,
Married on Larlar,
Took ill on Larlar,
Grew worse on Larlar,
Died on Larlar,
Buried on Larlar,
That was the end,
Of Solomon Grundy.
the week begins and ends with the lord's day, you heathens
Oh ho ho, he rested on the seventh day.
You gonna start counting with seven, now?
Checkmate, touchdown, mic drop, moonwalk off stage, thank you and goodnight.
The Sabbath is what the modern calendar denotes as Saturday. The day God rested in Genesis is not the day that Christians worship on.
In fact, the whole reason Christians worship on Sunday, the first day of the week, is because Jesus was killed at Passover (which takes place at the start of the Sabbath, on a Friday night) and rose on a Sunday. The Sabbath (Saturday) is a day of rest at the end of the week. Christians worship on Sunday so as to begin a new week with worship and fellowship, a symbol of the new beginnings that are a core of the faith.
I see a lot of talk of larlar and not too many true believers

What's he that wishes so?
My cousin Tommy2Hands? No, my fair cousin;
If we are mark'd to die, we are enow
To do our country loss; and if to live,
The fewer men, the greater share of honour.
God's will! I pray thee, wish not one man more.
By Jove, I am not covetous for gold,
Nor care I who doth feed upon my cost;
It yearns me not if men my garments wear;
Such outward things dwell not in my desires.
But if it be a sin to covet honour,
I am the most offending soul alive.
No, faith, my coz, wish not a man from England.
God's peace! I would not lose so great an honour
As one man more methinks would share from me
For the best hope I have. O, do not wish one more!
Rather proclaim it, Tommy2Hands, through my host,
That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his passport shall be made,
And crowns for convoy put into his purse;
We would not die in that man's company
That fears his fellowship to die with us.
This day is call'd the feast of Larlar.
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when this day is nam'd,
And rouse him at the name of Larlar.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say 'To-morrow is Larlar.'
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
And say 'These wounds I had on Larlar's day.'
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember, with advantages,
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words-
Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester-
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Larlar Larlar shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Larlar's day.

Well, really, I just want the CC calendar, but we'll have to go through UC, AC, FC, CE, and AW first, so the DC's kind of a good runup.

When the non-work week begins is also subjective.

As an American who strives to be international i.e. self-hating this argument holds water

This is correct, but I think it's important for the Americans to come to this conclusion by themselves, in their own time
