"The stories of me stumbling out onto the streets of New York City and devouring the souls of four homeless citizens so that I could retain my fading youth and repair the seams in my human suit are inaccurate."
TRUE
These stories are inaccurate, but not for the reason you might think. Police records indicate that Donald Trump actually consumed twelve souls that evening, not four.
seems like an excellent and valuable use of the site name to me
I think actual facts about the lies he's told, especially on a domain name that would attract his supporters, would be better than stupid jokes about being him a devilman but then that's me
His supporters don't care about actual facts.
it would be more accurate to say that they do not believe that Trump is capable of being incorrect
Here's the thing about that: when Trump supporters say something like "Blue Lives Matter" it's meant to completely destroy any semblance of truth in saying "Black Lives Matter." Those statements are mutually exclusive to those people. I think Bill is inelegantly putting out the "just because you think black lives matter doesn't mean you're anti-cop" aspect, which is true. You can absolutely be pro-cop and pro-BLM and yet still maintain that innocent people don't need to be killed by bad cops.
Moderators need to be able to and willing to cut someones mike during the debate. Yes the person can just shout shit anyway, but without a mike they'd come off more unhinged than Trump.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Trump is going to double down on his second amendment bullshit
He's never been hurt this badly in his life before
He literally agreed with Clinton's gun control stance only he also added confiscation of guns during random stop and frisks.
When I saw this I was like "YES YES piss off the NRA so they pull out support for your campaign."
If the NRA's forced to choose between a Democratic candidate and a Republican who violates their shibboleths, they'll almost certainly continue supporting the latter.
(Of course, with the NRA minority gun rights are something they've long been happy with abridging, and that's what everyone's talking about with the stop-and-frisks, so..)

i think Trump's supporters, for a lot of them, view the "facts" has being biased. and i'm not talking about the facts have a liberal bias thing. i mean to say that Trump's supporters are angry and believe that the persons determining the facts are biased themselves.
this is not a defense, but rather just trying to understand the vehemence of supporting Trump. because if one is angry enough at feeling like they are losing (example: coal workers), or no longer the center of attention (example: white supremacists, or even just white folks who thought "things were just fine" before Obama), or falling behind in today's economy (folks without access to or didn't receive better education), what Trump is selling is a heady mix of righteous anger.
Clinton's strategy is that these folks don't have enough influence to sway the election away from her. in some ways she's right, and in others, it just perpetuates the problem.
Trump is not the answer. but damn do i wish Clinton would at least acknowledge some of this more directly. doing so would require a lot more nuance than the voting public seems to want to digest.
Yeah the NRA came out to support Trump literally the day after he said he'd come for minority gun owners. This is also the org that tends to just ignore when minorities have an issue with the authority grabbing their guns at all. Almost like the NRA only cares about certain gun owner rights...

Why? It won't accomplish anything. They'll just get mad and reject everything they read.
Moderators need to be able to and willing to cut someones mike during the debate. Yes the person can just shout shit anyway, but without a mike they'd come off more unhinged than Trump.
On the other hand, letting him hang himself and not lending any legitimacy to his pathetic "something wrong with my mic" complaint plays way better than cutting him off could have.
I mean, she may have been on top of him, but would the people who are voting for him change their minds over this?
Its not about them. It's about the people who haven't decided.
That is true, but I guess I struggle with the idea that if you aren't one of the trump followers who have already bought into what he is selling why you would even consider him in the first place.
Cause people really hate Hillary Clinton. Usually for irrational reasons.
I think it turned out about as well as it could have re: the moderation. Any heavier and Trump could have complained about not being given time to talk and explain himself, any less and you get him rambling on and on for even longer and then they move on without the followup of "uh, you didn't answer the question." He was asked questions and couldn't answer them despite being given plenty of time to do so, even when asked the question again.
The moderator's job is to facilitate a structured discussion, but with Trump involved that's impossible. So you give him his time and let the viewer see that he doesn't know anything about anything.

Even when he directly contradicts himself both statements end up somehow true...its Shoedinger's lie.

he's basically turned the GOP into the party of accidental discordianism
If I'd watched the first ten minutes without the spoiler that he loses I might actually have been sick.
To me Trump spent the first few minutes sounding incredibly nervous before getting into a rhythm for a few minutes that very quickly fell apart.
Yeah his first answer he was talking really low and kind of monotone and it just sounded weird. I didn't really understand where everyone in the post-analysis was getting him "winning" the first few minutes before everything fell apart, I think it's just compared to how completely off the rails he went that first part is kind of tame in hindsight. It still wasn't great though.

Like honestly while I don't think Gary Johnson is a very respectable candidate either... I sure as hell ain't going to judge folks like I would with Trump. I got a lot more hope for folks who do protest votes than people who grumble and still vote for Trump.
Pence still clinging to the hope that the Earth will open up and swallow Trump, letting him be the president. Bless his heart.

The VP debates are gonna be so fucking milquetoast in comparison.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

Meanwhile I'm sittin here with popcorn desperately waiting and hoping for a day after the election where I can watch pence's political career completely fucking evaporate

I dunno Kaine has shown some fangs outside of his dad persona. Like his follow up to the deplorables comment was "Fuck yeah I'd say they are worse." I think he'll surprise you on how he tears into Pence. And he's got the best coach in the world for Biden on how to do that.

Hilariously, this is what Pence claims about Trump's hoax claim:
"What Donald Trump said was a hoax is that bureaucrats in Washington, D.C., can control the climate of the Earth," Pence said. "There's no question that the activities that take place in this country and in countries around the world have some impact on the environment and some impact on climate."

And then the earth swallows him up
Well, he lost his gubernatorial bid when he accepted the VP run, but running as Trump's veep is like accepting a room on the Titanic.
As a person from Indiana, I am 100% drinking a tall, cool glass of delicious shadenfreude as I watch Pence get kicked to the god damn curb.
Though if Trump loses, I fully expect Pence to come back to Indiana and work as some kinda god damn shadow vizier for Holcomb.

There is at least the value of lodging a protest against the two party system and the slim if any hope that said third party garners enough votes to be take seriously in future elections thereby opening the door to the end of this charade that we even get a choice.

Worst case scenario is that Pence wins the VP debate as the Trump camp tries to sell him as being the real guy who will be in charge while Daddy Warbucks is out there winning.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Oh also also after the whole debate I give Lester Holt a charitable 5/10. Honestly I think the debate was moderated poorly but I also don't know what reporter working for a major news outlet would be allowed to be forceful enough to get Trump (And, let's be fair, to a much lesser extent Clinton) to totally behave and stick to debate topics. Like, you could do it, but I don't know who'd allow you to do it. (And Trump would probably just walk off the stage.)
He deserves better than that, if he'd pressed any harder people who aren't already hardcore Trump supporters might think he was being biased.

I think he was okay as far as challenging statements that were patently bullshit. But he was a little bit weak when it came to cutting Trump off when his time was up. At the next debate, they need to just let the moderator cut his god damn mic.

Disagreeing. As in, Trump took a major opposition to that point in the debate, IIRC
Breaks from Trump on policy.
Yeah, that's what he meant.

the specific phrase "Blue Lives Matter" has white supremacy all over it, and there's no way Bill is not aware of that.
i get what he's trying to point out, but dammit he knows better about wording.
