My favorite part of XV is pretty much just the guys. They looked at Bioware and their companion conversations while you go around and do shit and thought (sometimes correctly) that it was the best part of the game and focused on trying to recreate that. Most quests you get, as you're walking away, your bros just start talking about the putz you just got a contract from. This one quest we got from a 10 year old kid and he's super weird, talking like a grown-up, bold as brass, asks us to check up on a guy they hired earlier because "Maybe he got cold feet or maybe he's a cold corpse."
We're heading out after that and the guys're like "Jesus, what was up with that kid? Iggy, were you like that when you were young?" "No, what? Come on, I wasn't that bad."

Rugged that's a really good deal for you too if the micro center near you has it. The case is horrendous but. You know.
Eh it's actually a good mobo. Still wary of psu and heat sink. But put it this way: if I was near a micro center I'd prolly buy it.
They're likely using the reference/founder's 1070 too, so it's not the $300+ version of it. I'm suspicious of the branding on the SSD, I doubt it's equivalent to the $150+ one mazzy picked out either.
bowen on

So going and getting my taxes done today. Return is going to replace the current computer. It is literally as old as my car. I built this thing in 2009. I might do a prebuilt this time...

It's s coin toss. You can OC the GPU easily enough etc. it all comes down to convenience

Yeah there's no way the prebuilt's PSU is going to handle that.
It's likely going to shit the bed on its own let alone if anyone starts tampering with voltages.

Friday's date with Woman #2 was goddamn amazing. We talked for like 3 hours, no uncomfortable silences, and there was definitely the electricity of attraction. I was so jazzed that on my way home I was blasting the soundtrack to Flash Gordon and doing some amazing singing. I'm really excited about going out with this girl man. I hope it continues to go well.
Sunday's date. Well. This was was Woman #1 and I knew that there simply wasn't that romantic vibe. And so after dinner I let her know that I thought she was super fuckin' cool and I totally wanted to still be friends. I really do! She took it well, and was cool with still being buddies. But damn man, I could see it in her eyes that maybe she was feeling it more than I had been. It tore me up. I was in a shit mood for the rest of the night and felt awful. I know it was the right thing to do. But damn.
Good job rugged! You don't need to feel so bad about #1. Lots of people just ghost in that situation which is very rude.

I really enjoyed the look and feel of Final Fantasy 8 for its time.
Yeah, the game itself was broken in a way FF rarely are (grind a few different monsters for 30 minutes or so and become unstoppable juggernauts for the rest of the game) - but I rather liked the characters, conflict, and the look/feel of the thing.
It is the first Final Fantasy to start leaning into more modern trappings also; not sure if that has been a net positive for the series, but it was very fresh when it happened.
In what way?
it looked more like star wars than fantasy/steampunk with occasional forays into the high tech.
Yes FFVII had Midgar... but Midgar was fukkin' bad! Like, it was a black mark on the world draining it of its life and most of the game felt like high fantasy save the planet stuff.
FFVI (and 1 and 4) had ancient ruins that were sufficiently more advanced that everything else in the game... but again - medieval fantasy was the bread and butter.
8 feels more like 10(plus offshoots) and 13(plus offshoots) and 15 in that modern + far future with a dash of traditional fantasy.

Yep. They have them here in stock in ATL.
So that looks good to you? Is that close to what you'd worked up for me? Quality wise?
Yeah. Caveat in the psu. 1070 is prolly reference like Bowen said. Lineage of the SSD is in question but it works out of the box and you don't have to do much of anything to it. Custom build would be a little sexier but more work.
Midgar was awesome though! Especially when you leave and are like holy shit this game is huuuuuge.
This isn't a mark on midgar being good or bad as a setting for the game, but rather that Midgar was "not okay" by the rules of the world. Technology was actively bad.

I won't lie part of me is just ehh now on building. I have built tons of comps. Replacing parts doesn't drive me nuts as need be. But like I don't know where my win 7 key is so I need a new one which is win 10. Fuck if I can get 5 years out of something I am happy.
I mean fuck, I don't even have an ssd in my current computer because when I built it they were so iffy and expensive it wasn't worth the roll of the dice.

There was Costa Del Sol which had...okay it was just a beach town not much tech there.
That one port town with the giant cannon wasn't all bad though?
Wasn't Midgar bad because of the reactors mainly? But other towns had technology and didn't use those. Gold Saucer! Which was a casino and thus inherently terrible but you know

And dont put it in a wooden box... I am assuming it uses a standard VESA mount, you you can wall mount it or put it on a not-XTREEM base - just make sure whatever you get can handle a 35" screen.
In fact, consider wall mounting, because you do not want to sit right on top of a 35" screen.

PC Part Picker is warning that some drive bays might get blocked by the GPU but other than that it seems like a good build.
And I mean that keyboard isn't a fancy mechanical one but we all must make sacrifices at times.
edit: And yeah never heard of that SSD manufacturer.
I did not. We're not to that point. It waits in the closet for those special intimate times.

Breath of Fire 2 was one of the coolest JRPGs I've ever played. I don't think it gets enough love personally.
This is good, right
I did a good thing y/n?
it definitely doesn't fit my style, but it was $400
your office also isn't very portable

I dunno if I could stomach dropping that much money on a monitor, but it looks hella nice.

Otherwise yes that is a fantastic monitor.
Let's play Mario Kart or something...
I was definitely wanting to spend about half that, but the retail for that monitor is $1000, so I . . . splurged . . .
I'll have to get @amateurhour to build me a nice wooden case to obscure all the tryhard
