Some dumb teenager/young adult wearing a full motorcycle helmet was speeding around a grocery parking lot on a minibike. Probably going 30 miles or so right outside the entrance. A giant bald guy standing outside reached out and snatched him off as he was shooting past, his bike swerved in to a brick wall. Young guy took a swing and ended up in a headlock.
Turns out giant bald guy was an off duty cop.
Fortunately it deescalated quickly once the guy realized he was dealing with a cop. When I left the store he was getting a loud, public lecture about speeding in an area full of children.

The one class I took like this had a small q/a after the speeches so we could ask counterpoints and stuff, nothing seriously in depth. Your class have anything like that?

but also I'd just have them sell mdma and opiods over the counter oops
I know that's insane but I also think it's correct. more people might end up addicted, although I honestly don't think they would, but less people would die from it for a whole bunch of reasons. to opioids I mean idk how mdma and addiction interact.
The speeches that were given today (persuasive, 7-9 minutes, at least two sources orally cited, some form of visual aid):
-lsd, mdma etc should be considered medicinally
-pharmacological companies and overprescribing doctors should be prosecuted for the opioid crisis
-physical torture should be used on criminals to get information
-the death penalty should be outlawed
Remember yesterday we did 'controversial opinions' [chat]?
Everyone give their yes / no to these 4 topics. I'll start us off:
- Yes
- No

yeah, sure if actual wrongdoing other than manufacturing drugs is the question. Like, no, maybe they didn't have a good faith belief that dodecamorphine would not be addictive.

It’s pretty free form. Some speeches the q/a is just like, what do you think the best solution is? I think you did a great job on a. I found b distracting.
And then if it’s a heavy topic at all the person gets called brave and at least one or two members of the class share a related story from their lives.

also I think there were at least some doctors who were acting in good faith. for some reason I don't extend that to the pharma companiees, I suppose that's not really fair.

I should have stipulated that defining your argument was not allowed in the initial yes / no round.
This is, by the way, a game show!

its more fun if its a package deal of legislation, all yes or all no.
I think I'd vote it down based on #3.

I think if you started charging doctors it would have a highly chilling effect on the ability of people who legitimately need opioids to get them

Alright and in this next scene all the animals have AIDS.
I got a little excited when I saw your ship.

I wonder what kind of person sits in the intersection of the venn diagram for "Yes to 3" and "Yes to 4".
I mean, they aren't incompatible philosophies by definition or anything, I just wonder what the reasoning might be for someone who is like "abolish the death penalty, but also torture them motherfuckers".

no old stuff. I don't speak french yet, I'm not going to start of by trying to figure out what the hell 19th century frenchmen are writing.
It's a game about mansized mechs
well I mean you're technically driving a robot..it's just human sized
From watching spool17 play, it's a game about either leaping, or fishing.
How big is my character then

-pharmacological companies and overprescribing doctors should be prosecuted for the opioid crisis
-physical torture should be used on criminals to get information
-the death penalty should be outlawed

It's like a weird tweeification of... schizophrenia, like what if schizophrenics were right and also the world was dark but in a silly way
The first season was kind of fun but it wore on me and the first episode is very draining
But that doesn’t answer my question.

though actually destroying things with magic fireballs is harder than you think going strictly with rules as written.
