My parents had a Smeg fridge for a long time.
    Always vaguely disturbing.

They're supposed to be pretty good fridges though?

Apparently, you can watch season 12 on BritBox. It is a new streaming service.

The BritBox site does not ask for your credit card info when you do their free trial. Amazing.

I vaguely feel like that's illegal in the UK.

Cured was fine. They all become mechanoid in the next one.

Siliconia was good. Still, I think the uploading would just make a copy of their brains.

Somehow I keep forgetting that XII is currently on. I think I'm gonna have to binge it on UKTV Play.

I'd think the same about uploading just making a copy; but I'll let Red Dwarf off for that because Bodyswap already established that they can sort of do that in this universe. Anyway, hard sci-fi this show ain't!

...this is Red Dwarf, folks. The rules are very much of the "whatever the fuck we want in order to make a joke" variety.

Things like talking sentient toasters aren't even halfway the most absurd things in the series.

Seems like the cast had great fun getting to try out Robert Llewellyn's make-up/prosthetics and costume.

I'm hearing rumours that I should stop pretending that the series finished at 6 and it has in fact returned to a modicum of form and is now worth catching up on. Can this be true?

    It was adorable.

I kind of thought the reboot might mean a guest appearance from one of the Hollys, as I heard a rumour about that. Still a fun ending to a really neat and under-utilized sci-fi concept.

My only concern is how much of his
memory has been reconstructed. That's a hell of a lot of memories and character development to lose.

The resolution to the M Corp baddie was kind of dumb.
It could be that the Corp was a broken machine though. Maybe it just kept growing long after the people that maintained it died.

    Wow episode 6 was fantastic.
Classic Dwarf hi-jinks, great cameos and a fun premise.
    Everything was great apart from
    rat
no idea what they were going for with that one, but it failed to hit the mark.

    Episode six:
Any appearance of Norman Lovett (Holly), even as a cameo, is awesome. Felt so much like a classic S3-S4 episode. Really good stuff. :)

I kind of liked the rat. Such a goofy non sequitur and costume that it worked as surreal humour. The cameos and old sets were perfect.

    It was too easy,
but I was 'thinking' that maybe because of the Think Tax, they didn't anticipate someone coming up with a simple solution like asking it to destroy itself.

I really liked the premise of the last episode, it's a shame the latter half didn't take up more of the episode.

Still way back in season 2 on my catch up attempt, but it has inspired me to get myself a new t-shirt:

Things improve allot when you get to season 3.

I would say the show truly starts there. Robert's Kryten was a key element to the show.
