Are there any maps or anything because I am slightly confused as to how Cantons work
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
At work at the moment, would love to talk trades when I get a breather.
Def need to look over the bazaar and resources and the map,
and get confirmation on what the team wants to do.
Which is hard to do at work
I think a day to look at all the new information provided on day 1, would be dope.
@Matev do we have to pick baron/lord/etc on turn 1? can this rank be raised on a later turn?
Rank is a perk like any other and is meant to be increased over the course of the game. You can start with Lord or Kingmaker at no additional cost (I’ll have to add that to the rules for later iterations)
Given clarifications and everyone getting used to their new titles, The House of Departed Lucifer declares this day of bleeding hearts and erosy to be extended, you will have until 8pm tomorrow to work out your kinks.
I probably keep slipping over it but how does legion loyalty work?
Is that how many turns we have them or how many losses they'll tolerate or something?
Loyalty is a defensive stat, showing a unit or place of power’s readiness and defense against rituals and tricks. When you test against a legion of place, you use it’s loyalty stat.

How does Canton conquest work for currently unclaimed Cantons? I assume it requires a legion but is it possible for a single legion to capture more than one canton per turn?
Bidding: you can bid more than the minimum but can you bid resources that aren't part of that minum cost? Like the infernal machine costs 8 souls and 12 hellfire minimum, but would my lord have to bid 9S 13H or could he bid like 8S 12H and 2Ichor instead?

Basically, matching your legions through unclaimed cantons plants your flag there, so to speak. It is possible to claim multiple cantons this way. It’s called the Rite of Prima Inferna (as the bf was quick to remind me as we drifted off last night) and should have been elucidated from the start.
You can bid whatever resources you like on the bazaar, so long as it at least has the minimum bid.
If a champion chooses to move legions twice how does that work? Can the same legion move? Can the same legion combat twice?
How many legions can be commanded at the start?
Default movement for legions is 2.
A legion can only move once a turn. Moving legions twice assumes the movement of 2 different legions. Legions can get into more than one fight a turn. One they start from moving into an opposing legion or place of power, and then however many legions move into them. (2 is not unheard of, but more should gets rarer unless it’s a very late game power play)
You may command 2 legions at the start of the game.

no, you can command 2 legions. Think of it as you have a supply cap of 2. Your bodyguard legion will always be 1 of those. If you want more armies, you’ll have to buy them from the bazaar.

Another legion question: when you buy a legion does it spawn at your capital or can you choose where to deploy it within your borders?
Does our starting legion begin at the capital or can we start them at a border hex?
How does advantage work? You roll 3d6 once, and say that translates into an advantage for once side or the other, with a stat bonus, but what does that mean?
So, 2 legions fight. I roll. Say it comes up 1, 4, 3.
That would mean a side (I would say the aggressor for this system) gets a bonus to their melee stat for the fight, at a +3. This is to account for many factors that can turn loss to victory, stalemates to routs, such and such.

I'm confused as to how diplomatic efforts succeed/fail.
Depends on how one defines success. With demands, they either give you what you want or you have grounds for vendetta. With insults, they either take the insult and you pocket the prestige, or they have to claim vendetta to save face.

Do resources gained by trade become available on the round traded, or the round after?
For example if I trade 1 ichor for 1 soul on GT1, can I spend the soul on GT1

Not likely.. Places of Power heal.
As probably too do the strongholds.
But I assume if I choke out a single canton then they will cede 4x resources that turn?
Or can the weaklings only push out a x2 once per turn?
Demanding tribute nets double resources (and a canton can only be demanded from once per turn). I have no doubt of your ability to squeeze blood from diamonds though, generous master.

I suddenly want a solium infernum-themed CK2-like game. Hell is an even better premise for scheming and backstabbing and politicking than the middle ages

There is a map on the previous page and the 1st page. They cannot be embedded due to their size.

Or depending of the house, to work them in.

I'm pretty sure we all have 2S, 2I, 1 H, and 1D in our immediate demenses, from clarification earlier, but not 100% on that.
This is correct.
Legions always march forth from your stronghold in all their Infernal glory.

Support is only for adjacent cantons and is automatically included when combat starts, no orders necessary. Odd stats are rounded up.
Clarification denied.
Are Mountains, Ponds, Ravines, & Rivers impassable, outside of gates?
Look at affixing a flying demon to Virgil.
I wouldn't say never, but as it stands for now, yes.
