I like the idea that Death appearance is based on the character's perception.

And Thanos is a kid who absolutely drew skeletiddies in the margins of his composition notebook a Space Despot School

this is to perfect for me

How can that be perfect if those cowards didn't let Thanos do a Raging Demon

So I remember earlier this year Rick Remender's Death or Glory creator-owned book got posted in here. I'm looking at gift ideas for a friend for Christmas and my wife and I are stumped. It looks like something she might be into, and Remender is generally good, but what do ya'll think about it, if you read it?

    I would not recommend it

The female lead is super super sexualized in a very male gaze-y and the first issue has the R word used like 3 times

Back to the drawing board. Have you read any independent/creator owned books you would recommend this year? Hopefully with tpb available?

DEADLY CLASS is good, and I think there are 7 tpbs at this point? And the show on Sci-Fi starts next month.

Abbott by Saladin Ahmed and Sami Kivella. Black lady reporter in 1970s Detroit stumbles upon a supernatural muder mystery that is interwoven with the city's institutionalized racism.

God Country by Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw, equal parts Jack Kirby Cosmic madness and down to earth family drama, as the estranged Alzheimer's suffering patriarch of a Texan family is bound to the sword of a dead interstellar god, and the god's family wants it back.

Judas by Jeff Loveness and Jakob Rebelka, an absolutely gorgeous telling of what happens when Judas Iscariot dies and goes to hell, trying to reconcile what he did with the fact that he was always fated to make that decision so Jesus would be reborn.

Those are 3 of my favorites I read in the past year or two.

Whiteout by Greg Rucka and Steve Lieber is pretty good as well. It follows a Deputy US Marshall at McMurdo Station in Antarctica trying to solve a murder, and also trying to not freeze to death.

Skip the movie adaptation. It's bad.

Why would Death wear a sweater? Do you think she gets cold?

Sometimes Death wants to be cute, which is extremely valid.

"I am death! I appear to you how you see me in your mind's eye!"
"My mind's eye put you in a sweater?"
"No, I just wanted to look cute today."

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

if I die and Death isn't a skeleton in a robe that shows up on a sick horse or maybe a motorcycle

    I will refuse to die

well okay, unless it's Sandman's Death, in which case I'd probably come along and try some flirts out

Reportedly they are also seeking an Asian-American director and lead for Shang-Chi (which, they fuckin better be) with the intent being to have another "Black Panther moment"

Which translates into make a shit ton of money but I'm not gonna complain about a Shang-Chi flick under that direction
