There's one computer terminal in I believe the last monstered area of SOMA which I never got to interact with because that one monster seems to know where you are no matter what you're doing and I found no other way of dealing with it than to sprint directly to the airlock.
0/10, Alma was not an option. Alma gave me fucking nightmares.
I don't think Alma ever chased you? She mostly showed up out of nowhere.
Yeah, she was pursuing you all the time and only showed herself some of the time. Like on the goddamn, fucking, god-forsaken, fucking, shit-stinking, fucking, pissed myself fucking ladder.

I am very glad to see the Evil Within 2 love in here. That game was so fun. I think Evil Within 3 may be one of my biggest video game hopes.
It improved so so much on the first game, and the story was the perfect mix of scary but exciting and goofy that I love.
And I'm also very happy to know I'm not the only one who was terrified of ghost lady.
As much as I love the idea of more Evil Within, and as much as I think an EW3 could go in extremely cool directions after the end of EW2.... I think the first game used up all the good will the series had. EW2 sold very poorly and is almost certainly going to be the last we see of that series
Speaking of which the actual scariest character to be chased by would in fact be Samus.
Because Samus kills everything she sets her mind to chase down.
Samus is responsible for the extinction of at least two species, the destruction of two planets, and at least one metaphysical concept.
Four planets, minimum. Super, Fusion, Prime 2, Prime 3. And has tried very hard to eradicate a third species (Metroids keep showing up again because cloning).
I assume for metaphysical concept you mean Prime 3?

Metroids can currently be assumed extinct after the end of Metroid Fusion. The Omega Metroid Samus kills at the end of it is the last known Metroid.

Yup.
She fuckin kills ghosts, man.
If Samus wants you wiped out of existence, she will find a way and in the process kill your whole race.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
A large number of animal species have only been observed on planets that Samus has destroyed, but the Metroid universe seems to be one where interstellar animal migration seems to happen pretty easily. Samus has definitely eradicated the Ing, X and Metroids, though.

They are pretty explicitly extinct until the federation clones them from samples of the baby metroid.
And all known Metroid clones were on the BSL station, which blew up. Additionally, Samus' body no longer contains Metroid DNA after she absorbs SA-X.
(or uh I assume there were also some on the Bottle Ship but hell if I'm gonna play Other M to find out)

It seems like folly not have a lot of clone labs for your energy producing super weapons
I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.

SA-X (Metroid Fusion)
Metroids aren't energy producing. They are energy draining.
They are useful because they are bioweapons that are incredibly hard to kill.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

Hmm, how do you know you're not playing SOMA right now??
Actual SOMA spoilers
so all I did was add a Simon
You can mod SOMA to stop monsters from attacking you
Steam ID - VeldrinD | SS Post | Wishlist
Not a mod anymore, they patched in that option at new game.
As opposed to real life where there's nothing you can do about it
Wear spikes. Thats what the punk movement was really about
It is such a good exploration of consciousness and existentialism.

And then there was the unfortunate ending for the protag in FEAR2.
God, I had forgotten how fucked up the ending to that game was.
And then FEAR3 was terrible because Warner was chasing the coop trend and I'm still mad about it.
Because Samus kills everything she sets her mind to chase down.
She only kills.
DOOM Space Marine guy RIPS AND TEARS.

Cursed sword, utterly silent, shows up freaking everywhere, never gives up the chase. He pursues. He pursues you.

At least it went out on a great game

Other M is Cannon, not Canon.
As in it has been fired out of a cannon into the sun.
They are useful because they are bioweapons that are incredibly hard to kill.
Not if you're a super top secret black project that must be kept under wraps at all costs!
GOD they still haven't made a Metroid 5 and it's been 17 years.
how do you figure that
