There was like... Nothing in that trailer. I can't tell if I should be glad or upset by that. I know it's Star Wars and people will see it anyway I was just hoping they'd actually talk about what's happening in the movie.

Star Wars trailers by design excite me. This is the first one that really... disappointed. It didn't hit nostalgia buttons, the new stuff wasn't interesting, and
Rey's saber, as shown, is just stupid. The only thing that made me excited was the Rey/Kylo fight with the waves crashing around them.
The first still of Rey's saber I saw I assumed it was a bad photo shop as a joke along the lines of the light saber escalation video that's been around for a while.

Maybe don' include spoilers in your trailer desciptions?
It's literally a trailer. I'm not worrying about spoilers for a commercial.
Except that's also a spoiler for the movie itself, for those (like me) who don't plan on watching the trailer.
Look, there's no rule about spoilering trailers for movies in the movie trailer thread. If a mod wants me to go back and tag it I will but that seems pretty asinine to me. I'm sorry you saw a commercial for a movie in the commercials for movie thread.

They're going to do like razor companies and come out with a 5 blade saber next.

Yeah but the kyber crystal refills cost $Corellia.
I'm still hoping there is a framing story/epilogue where he's at Arkham telling this story, and at the end someone points out that it wasn't the same life story he told the last time.

The King, new Netflix real movie coming this fall about King Henry V, starring Call Me By Your Name and Sparkly Vampire Batman:
Looks good, but King Henry really needs to do some push ups, brah. Hopefully it's on par with Outlaw King released last year, and if so Netflix could make a solid play for cornering the fall english history biopic market.

script spoilers
he's talking to a psychiatrist in both the beginning and ending, but not the same one; the one at the end is at Arkham though. he also hallucinates a cat throughout the whole movie (it doesn't have a reflection) so what you see on screen could also possibly be a hallucination, so they did add a bit of that. Also, a lot of the plot is about him trying to figure out who he is and where he came from

Henry of Monmouth was a complicated guy.
He was physically built like Richard II (a frail aesthete) but wanted to (and for 9 years, successfully did) throw his nuts around Europe like Richard I or Edward III. A deeply pious warmonger, who is outdone only by Henry VII (in English regnal history) in the number of masses for their souls they endowed be said for them.
The haircut speaks for itself though, he was a shorn prick.

It's not the Killing Joke reference that it needs, but at least that sounds like the unreliable narration that we deserve.
That feels like they're super channeling 70s cinema, especially like Taxi Driver

Coin is still spinning in the air for this one, I don't think it'll be great but I hope it is fine.
Well Ted, I'm quite cynical as you know. I don't think it will be, there may be a swerve of some kind, but the main villain Terminator and the main resistance lady look bland and I think there are (what seems like) too many central characters for them to have proper arcs. Unless it's 3 hours long. Robert Patrick in the police uniform looked like a robot laser-guided shark on land, the new guy is just dressed like he was going to the shop. I don't think it'll end up impressive, but reviews will say that Linda Hamilton was amazing. There's probably too much damage been done to to the brand for it to do well either way.

It definitely has that feeling of apocalyptic tension that was missing from 3/Salvation/Genesys, which felt 'light-hearted' or silly somehow. This seems to have the same sense of pending doom that T1 and T2 did.

Is this JoJo going to fight Pillar Men in Italy?
edit: Jexi could be interesting and I wonder if Rose Byrne is trying to monopolize female robot voice, I just cringe when I see San Francisco tech guy, it's as bad as girl in NYC working at a magazine trying to have it all. And you'd think this being an R movie they would actually trash San Francisco for being full of shit, but probably not.

I guess it was speaking directly to the fans, but the narration seemed like it was in-universe so didn't fit to me

Like one that Palpatine's mentor just threw one day with enough anger to make it self aware.

I am confused.
I just wish it didn't look so... crisp? Like, do more to make it look 80s besides outfits and sets.
I want it to look like THIS.

I did genuinely enjoy Genesis though, even if it wasn't a good movie.
