if everyone who ever said fag or faggot were cancelled, not one single one of you would be allowed here. maybe bleric or some of the younger kids might survive. certainly nobody over the age of 26
Hell, Keanu Reeves would be canceled, from "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure".

Who are the NYC chatters again? I'm getting distraught trying to figure out where to park in Manhattan. Or like, should I park outside Manhattan and take a train in?

Bring $40 and pay for a whole day parking spot in a garage.

it's $50/day minimum in Chicago I would think Manhattan would be even more

Thanks, yeah, I've been trying to get an estimate and some garages quote $175 for the three days we'll be there. That's what makes me think parking outside the city and taking public transport in must be cheaper, but I'm not sure where to go.

    where are you coming from?

Driving down from New Hampshire -- map says to take I-95 south pretty much the whole way.

    Edit: JK I start and end on 95, but take other stuff on the way: I-95 S. Take I-495 S, I-290 W, I-90 W, I-84...

I just mostly think cancellation is kind of arbitrary and subject mainly to the wild vacillations of the mob.

This is actually something that bothers me: should I like Favorite Song, when I'm not comfortable with all the lyrics?

singin along to my favorite 90s rap hits and just uncomfortably skipping over the n word

It's a spontaneous expression of how our collective values are evolving.

I don't think it should be like a permanent black mark on a person or something, but it's probably worthwhile to bring stuff up and be like "this thing we were cool with is something we shouldn't have been, and we aren't cool with it moving forward".

Hate the sin not the sinner and all that.

If you're planning on coming down for a weekend, most Metro North stations are free parking sat/sun. Find one close to the city. If you park in western queens I will fight you.

Yeah $50 seems steep even for NYC, you're 1/3 of the way to a hotel stay at that point.

I paid $20-40 a day depending on when, where, and how long I'm parking.

I am frankly astonished at the number of people who think that if a program isn't in the dock on a mac, it isn't installed.

I get multiple tech requests a week to install stuff that is already installed because no one knows to check that.

cred, why would you say the defect starting relic does so much of your damage? it just makes one orb at the start of combat, which is weaker than most card effects. most rare relics will be much stronger, though you are risking getting fucked by some

if you draw velvet choker, then you don't go shivs. you shouldn't really be making planned builds ahead of time anyway imo

IMO, the Defect starting relic isn't super strong, but in the early game when you have so little to work with, it gives you consistency and damage for free. I'd love to be able to replace it after Act 1.

Two guys broke into the control room for an electronic billboard and put porn video up on it, which stayed up for about 20 minutes before police cut power

honestly, this feels like a crime from another era, like publishing heresy against the church or telling jokes about the local lord. The police described the video as "offensive" but who the fuck is genuinely offended by pornography in the year of our lord 2019? Even the think of the children types have gotta be like, "eh my kid has had unsupervised time on an internet connected iPad. as long as it wasn't peppa pig giving suicide tips who cares"

It was then, seeing the video being displayed in public, that I felt some kind of emotion that wasn't quite shame nor pride; it was perhaps even relief. I knew then that there were thousands of us who recognized that video, and that we would not be silenced any longer.

I'd like to go to karaoke and see someone do "Money For Nothing" forgetting about THAT VERSE and just staring like a dear in headlights while the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme plays.

It'd be more entertaining than the groups that play "you've lost that loving feeling" without knowing that the song is more than 40 seconds long

Someone in the sysadmin thread had this beautiful explanation about how users all know specific spells, a certain ritual that makes a thing happen. Click here, move the mouse here, click that, program works. Trying to customize these rituals or go outside the bounds of a spell is impossible for the average apprentice wizard. They can learn new spells, but knowing the inner workings of magic is difficult.

I wonder if these are people who mainly use mobile devices and are struggling with the shift in OS paradigm

Cesca (who is a teacher) sees this with kids that have only ever used mobile/tablet devices and have trouble with the idea of having to actively save work
