The copy I got of the last issues is from a library or was poor suckers it's mine now (I bought it from a used bookstore some where in Ohio it has library labels I lold was all)
But that's half the fun of buying out of print books they have a history
I watched The Death And Return Of Superman, two animated films (Death of Superman and its sequel Reign of the Supermen) put together as one complete near-3-hour viewing experience that just got released to BluRay this week
Death of Superman was obviously the better of the two and I think one of my fav comic adaptations in general, animated or not. It's always been one of my most-loved comics, the one I remember most from reading it the first time when I was a kid, and it was definitely done justice in the adaptation. Also it had one of my favorite portrayals of the relationship between Lois and Clark?
So yeah. Took me a bit to see Death of Superman, but I'm very glad I did, it was well worth it! And Reign of the Supermen wasn't bad either, albeit not as great or near as memorable

a huge problem is that a lot of writers over the years have liked the ingrained sexism of "she fucked her way through her degree"
Wait, what? I thought she came off as a bit ditzy but that being due to the whole 'mad love' thing for Joker lowering her smarts kinda like how some folks tend to be in a bad relationship. Where did this idea of her doing it with her teachers come from?

I can’t remember the specific comics, but some writers do have her imply she used sex to get her position.
Other writers do not, so the “canon” is...conflicted about it. But yeah, it sucks, and it plays into the idea a lot of people have about Harley that she’s just a ditzy femme fatale instead of, you know, a smart person who’s a victim of abuse.
Read all the current issues of Lois Lane, its very good! Question though
So uh...why is Vic alive? did a bunch of dead characters come back or something?
That seems to be something that'll be answered in Lois Lane, don't think he was seen elsewhere. Though it seems like every writer is undoing New 52 in a different way since doomsday clock is taking so long so I may have missed one
DC announced they will be releasing an updated timeline that covers the DCU and will sort out what is and is not canon in the wake of Rebirth
No creative team named but Didio did say that Wonder Woman is going to be the first superhero of the "modern" era, with Superman arriving in the second "generation" after her

I'll be fascinated to see which origin they go with for Wonder Woman.
-OG
-New 52 with all the baggage that brings
-Rebirth which is mostly OG with the MASSIVE asterisk of "lol, she NEVER went back to Paradise Island after the origin, every time she thought she had was a fakeout or lie."
Also, did she date New 52 Superman or was that a different version of the character who was swapped out somehow? Do the DC heroes even still remember there was another Superman they hung out with for like... a decade who dramatically died? And not the one who died to Doomsday... did the New 52 one supposedly die to Doomsday at some point? Or was that only the John Byrne Man of Steel one who we have back now...?
Apparently the four eras they are going with are The Dawn of Heroes, beginning with Diana entering man's world back in the early-mid 20th century, The Space Age, starting with Superman's debut, The Age of Crisis, beginning with COIE and Flashpoint, covering everything from Flashpoint to the modern era.

I'm almost sure it was Mad Love from Paul Dini.
the guy who created the character, so it's both (1) about as canon/from the horse's mouth as you can get, and (2) skeevy as fuck.
Didn't one of the dozen Harley Quinn OGNs coming out just address the "sleeping with the professor" stuff
It was like, she was already top of the class before she started sleeping with him? Which keeps it canon if that's something you need to do, but also removes the implicit/explicit "and that's how she graduated"

That's in Šejić's Harleen, which is not exactly in canon.
Harleen has a relationship with a teacher in that, because she finds the guys in her class to be kids. Her later boss points out that, while that was a mistake, there was no way that she would have been able to graduate and certainly not with those grades if she didn't put in a lot of work in all of her classes.

I actually like the retcon that Harleen does with it
First off, it gets rid of the dumb idea that sleeping with her professor(s) is the only way she got through school
Second, it establishes that she has ongoing difficulties with professional boundaries and romantic entanglements

Yeah, what's fascinating about that, is that the Harley Quinn solo series written by Karl Kesel and drawn by Terry and Rachel Dodson actually doesn't go with what Dini set as "canon".
Like, you'd expect that the book the Dodsons were on would be the horny one (and, in some parts, it still definitely is), but Kesel actually has a section where an investigator states that Harleen has a "genius-level I.Q." And Dr. Arkham is seen in a flashback saying "[I'm] quite impressed with your grades and glowing recommendations, Dr. Quinzel." Harley replies with a quip: "It's amazing what you can get with a little blackmail these days." But Arkham explicitly calls that out has a joke and that he's glad Harleen has a good sense of humor.
When I first read that paperback collection of their Harley series, I figured it was just an example of Harleen having a bit of a twisted sense of humor even at the start; but in hindsight, with the added context of knowing this series came out, like, 7 years after Mad Love, it almost feels like Kesel is directly repudiating the idea that she slept her way to the top.
Anyway, all this is to say I still really like "Preludes and Knock Knock Jokes," and aside from the fun Harley content, it also has one of my favorite Big Barda appearances in all of comics.

DC announced a new Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey Black Label book from Amanda Connor
Not to be confused with the new Birds of Prey Black Label book, starring Harley Quinn, by Azzarello and Luppachino.
Both are out early 2020 for maximum confusion
Which ones the ugly one
Both Amanda Connor and Emanuela Luppachino are great artists!
(This one actually seems kinda neat, Harley is a criminal profiler hunting down Joker and there is zero romance involved)

I gotta know; did Bloodwynd make it in?
Not a proper adaptation without him in it.
Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
there's so many things you could do with harley quinn that aren't just "deadpool but horny"
i always want them to play up the psychologist angle. i remember a throwaway line in morrison's batman about how she wrote her thesis on the joker
