Division 2 is even less solo friendly than Division 1, a game that wasn't very solo friendly to begin with. But at least I managed it in that game. Also DC in the summer is a worse setting than New York at winter.

Yeah, but $3.

Good one! Just some real top notch insight and coming in with a great original joke that is in no way tired and played out! So glad you added this to the discourse!
For real though, I loved The Division 2 from start to finish on XB1, and bought it again for my new PC, so I would love to play coop with anybody at any time.
I know a lot of people didn't like the way the gear worked in the end-game, and they are doing a complete rework of those systems for this new expansion that comes out in March. They have a great track record with getting the first game to a good place, so I'm super confident that the game will be in its best shape when the new big update hits.
I watched the trailer for Satisfactory, and the idea of finding a serene, untouched wilderness planet with gorgeous landscapes and its own ecology and slowly destroying it with a steady industrial advance of colossal machines that belch poisonous black smoke and leak heavy crude directly into the soil (all with the help of some co-op buddies) sounds like a really fun time.

Have you looked at Factorio?
Because it's basically top-down Satisfactory.
It's also about taking a pristine wilderness and turning it into an industrial hellscape of pollution and machinery.
That's not quite true, because, like with dwarf fortress, when you look at your industrial hellscape, it makes perfect sense.
When anyone else does, it's a mess, who's belts / elephant graveyards can be made so much more efficient if you just do it like this instead....
Do you like The Room? Do you like campy spy thrillers that are homages to early James Bond movies? Then pop this on the wishlist! I'm about 4/5 through it and I haven't needed to look at a walkthrough even once, which I think is a sign that it's pretty well developed. It even has a demo and only costs a couple of bucks
So lets have a discussion about Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem. First, its an ARPG in the vein of Diablo, Path of Exile, Torchlight, etc. Its basics are the same, you click and press buttons to clear massive groups of enemies. What it does is a bit of differences with the combat and classes.
First theres no classes, all that you pick at the beginning is what weapon set you want to start with. In Early access theres no character customization at creation, but there will be in the release on Thursday (Feb 13th). You start with either a 2h weapon, a bow, or a staff. You find or buy skills in this game, not from leveling up. The type of weapon you have equipped is what changes the skills you have available. From what i've seen theres a few different 'sets'. Melee has its own usable skills. Staff/Catalyst(Catalyst being offhand spell caster weapons) are the spells like fireball, ice blast. Theres ranged weapon only skills, so Bows and Pistols, and then there are rogue like weapons. These skills require a dagger, or pistols, or bow.
So with no classes, and skills designated by your weapons, what is there to customize for your class? Well it has a skill tree. It looks menacing and scary at first glance, but its really not that bad.
There are a few more important nodes, but you basically pick some points and build towards an outer ring. Its easy to switch between the different 'sets' of trees, theres no barrier between the colors, and most interestingly you can adjust the rings to your liking. That means you can press a button and switch the inner, middle, or outer rings around, spinning them to match up to make the character you want. These are all passive abilities, theres even more customization with the skills you have.
Every skill you have on your bar gains experience as you do, and levels up. At specific levels you unlock talents for the skills that can adjust how you use them, or the benefits they get, a lot like diablo 3's. Where it differs is that you can mix and match the talents for your skills to add multiple of the traits to it.
The interesting part of combat is that you have two resource bars. Willpower is your ability to cast spells, and Rage is your ability to use physical attacks. Out of combat you fill your willpower to full, while in combat your attacks with melee weapons will generate rage for you to fuel your abilities. You can refill willpower in combat with magical based weapons like staves, but everything else gives you rage. This means you can open with big spells at the start of combat, but will need to refill your mana with staff attacks, or you can leap into the fray and start bashing things with your weapons before you unload your big attacks. The classes in other ARPGs had resources like this, but this game mixes them together making it really interesting way to mix and match your playstyle. Ive only played a few hours, but I tried a lot of different attacks and the one I settled on the most was using a Dagger in one hand and a catalyst in the other, meaning I could use spells to start with then transition into heavy melee attacks when my rage filled up. When you spend rage on skills your Willpower refills, so I was able to just switch back and forth in a melee/spellcaster hybrid manner.
The game is Currently in Early Access. Everything i've said could completely change, I haven't been keeping up with the information released, but the full game comes out on the 13th. Its currently $30 and after release it'll be going up to $45.
From the VERY limited playtime ive had, i'm cautiously excited for this game. I really enjoyed whats there, and I like being able to mix and match my character's skills to my own liking. Theres a LOT of new info on the official boards, but I havent dug into it too much because im excited for release and going in somewhat blind.
Division 2s missions felt a bit harder to solo than 1, however the open world streets were WAY harder to solo, like I died so much getting to missions that I got frustrated and gave up. I’ll give it another go one day
Last night I saw that the Xbox version of The Division 2 was $3. Had a look to find it was £9 over here - still a substantial discount but not in "impulse buy, what the hell even though I bounced hard off the first one with its bullet sponges and forced multi" territory.
The PC version is $3 too? Okay, let's have a look... oh, it's still the full whopping £50 here for the standard edition or (weirdly) £34 for the Warlords of New York edition.

Hahaha no.
The game is 24€ in the Ubi store and 10€ in the Epic Store here in the EU. Seems like only Canada an the US got the best deal.
I know of people that have used VPNs to get it since Ubi seems to be far more permissive than Steam in that regards, but there is no way I am going through such hoops myself.

Speaking of Ubisoft Tom Clancy games in co-op, we should dust off Wildlands again. Now that was how you do a goddamn open-world Clancy game.
Looking at The Division and Breakpoint, it seems almost like they made Wildlands awesome by accident. (At least the DLC was supposedly poor, so obviously they realised their mistake.)
I'm not sure if there's anything that bounces me off of a shooter harder than bullet sponge enemies. Somehow a friend and I managed to schedule a weekly, in-person, BL2 co-op run. Even the alcohol couldn't keep those sessions fun for more than a month. I tried a bit of the Division 1 on someone's account. I'm not sure how far into the game they were, but it felt like gassing up a car - just waiting there for minutes holding down the trigger. Even at $3, I think I'm good on Div 2.
I think that the internet has been for years on the path to creating what is essentially an electronic Necronomicon: A collection of blasphemous unrealities so perverse that to even glimpse at its contents, if but for a moment, is to irrevocably forfeit a portion of your sanity.

Well then, /bought. Kind of a bummer that their online servers are off until the 13ths as that's all i'm interested in but oh wells.
They are also wiping all characters and progress I believe, which has me eagerly awaiting release to try it. Saved a few bucks getting it early at least.

Are there guilds in Wolcen, @CorriganX ? We should make a PA one.
Havent seen it mentioned in thread but the update that turns Soundtracks into independent things instead of DLC has been rolled out.
But developers need to update their files manually, so not every soundtrack is implemented. But there is a filter with a box to check to see them in your library.
Also of course they are doing a soundtrack sale this week.
I dont really buy soundtracks but I have a couple from bundles already so this is pretty cool.

Now I want to reinstall Wildlands. I never did finish it...
I've got a post I've been thinking about making about some level design stuff I thought was interesting in Wolfenstein Youngbloods, but I think I'm going to wait until after I've resolved a major glitch preventing me from making any story progress before I make it.
I have X-com on GoG and it came up in conversation with my brother-in-law that Long War doesn't seem to like it for some reason. He's a big fan of Long War and is convinced I'd set a world record for the fastest game over, so he bought it for me.
This 48 minutes represents at least 5 minutes of reading through second wave and starting location options and no more than 43 minutes of getting my save into a probably irretrievable condition (two full squads lost, third one doomed in the field because my attempt to shift gears has made things worse ("Mobility seems to be my core problem, I'll slap carbines on the whole team so they run faster," two minutes later: "What the fuck it takes three hits to kill a sectoid now!").

...there's also two endings. You know, in case you were wondering.
Coming in March: Dating a dating simulator developer simulator.
I'm pretty sure that already exists. Would look to confirm, but I appreciate my sanity too much.
I don't appreciate your sanity that much, so I tried to confirm for you. Searched Steam, made it as far down the list as Santa's Big Sack and noped back out, knowing I probably just tainted my recommendations worse than when I let my kid watch Cocomelon on my youtube account.

@TetraRay sent me porn. Disguised as a Slay the Spire knockoff.
Thanks, you monster!

Well I totally coop'd through the first game so this is a must purchase!
I'll coop the shit out of you in this game if you let me.
I never finished Div1 but had some decent fun before the bullet sponge enemies wore me out. I'm confident I can have $3 worth of fun with Div2.

Alright I bought it and am downloading it.

Breakpoint though is still good, the loot system def doesn't fit totally, but it's not a hindrance really.
I haven't had an issue with bullet sponge either, its the same level as Wildlands.
I picked it up for $13 during a sale and it's well worth it, just kinda roaming around and taking out random camps is fun.
