As it was put recently on an episode of the X-Plain the X-Men podcast, carrying out long-term revenge plans is practically one of Mystique's superpowers.
So can anyone fill me in on what's currently happened to Tony stark? Last i saw he was dead then not dead, and now he seems to be gone again and Anno Stark is running around in his place. again? Also something something ai?
I don't think it's come up in other titles yet but in the Iron Man solo/Iron Man 2020, he got brought back by an extremis-type solution but there was a whole thing about how he's technically not the original tony but an AI that thinks it's tony and now he's leading an AI revolution.
But most interestingly, a new team book. Starring Union Jack and what appears to be, per BC's Scoop, 4 new heroes from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Right as Brexit is happening.
You throw Al Ewing or Dan Abnett on that and you've got a book I'll pick up
I mean, i have my grumps at IM3, but that's purely because i really like the extremis storyline and find Tony Stark Werid Transhuman Doing Transhuman Things a more interesting take on the character (and their inclination to hubris). Then again, give me everything warren ellis (But make sure there's more love of puppies in it. i will FIGHT you over this, Ellis)
But it's a perfectly fine and good movie! Hating it for pulling a clever stunt with the villain seems... ??? Comic book fans are werid

Listen, my roommates won't watch Knives Out because they still hold a grudge against Rain Johnson for The Last Jedi.
I'm hoping I am painting a vivid picture.

I mean, Knives Out is the first Johnson movie I have out and out loved (Brick is second best), so I can understand a certain hesitance, but really now.
Avolon is now officially part of Krakoa. He gives Betsy his grimoire and tells her that he will have no secrets from her.
So far so good, Betsy is not exactly trusting him, but is willing to cooperate.
Now we get to the problem, for a ritual ▪︎-|A|-▪︎ needs the heads of the Warwolves (Excalibur foes, mercury dogs that track their prey for Mojo). They are currently in London Zoo where they were donated by Excalibur way back when. Betsy does not want to kill Zoo animals, but all it takes is ▪︎-|A|-▪︎ to tell her that they are evil and not from this world, and that apparently makes it OK.
Jubilee tags along, cause she has having some problems controlling dragon-Shogo and gets Meggan to babysit him, so she can have some adventure and alcohol (Jubilee still best character in this series). Pete Wisdom uses his government influence to get them in London Zoo, but the Warwolves have been bought. (Apparently Jubilee is now also some great hacker... following in the steps of Tabitha apparently). They are getting drinks at a karaoke bar where the buyer of the Warwolves is, Cullen Bloodstone. Bloodstone is not willing to part with the wolves though, but has a different idea. He wants to hunt them (in classic english fox hunt style, except with demon cats) and invites Excalibur along for the hunt.
Problem 2: Weirdly enough only Rictor has a problem with the whole hunting living creatures for sport. Gambit is still grumpy, but for another reason. He still got some good reasons to be (he does not trust ▪︎-|A|-▪︎ and the group keeps just doing his bidding without telling Gambit that the missions they are on are ▪︎-|A|-▪︎'s.) So problem 3: This series keeps putting me on the same side as Gambit.
Betsy and Rogue both kill a Warwolf, leaving 5 others (so apparently Warwolves breed in captivity, because there used to be six.) Cullen's mad that they are winning and has decided that hunting mutants is more interesting.

well, getting to the imperialism sure didn't take long.
I guess after years of Jack Staff, putting him on Union Jack makes sense.

Not surprisingly, Gwen’s affected by Outlawed. She was 19 when she was introduced and a lot of time has passed, I figure she’s probably nearly-but-not-quite 21
I love the character but bounced off her book hard after Latour left. This might be the one Outlawed book so far that I skip. On the other hand, probably a decent jumping on point
Kinda, though Miles just turned 18, and 19 and 17 isn’t like, crazy
But also they never really had a romance if you actually read that arc. They kissed once and decided to put their sparks on hold for now. They visited an alternate Earth where their future selves are married and their family is basically the FF of that world. So there was a sort of idea of “we would be this great power couple” but faced with that knowledge they felt weird about leaning into it

Sometimes he is a noble savior
Other times a bold, risk taking champion of his people
But in X-Men, with no audience except Erik and Raven, we see that behind the flash and fancy outfits and importance
Charles Xavier is just another petty, powerful, arrogant man.
God
She is going to destroy them
Except ditch the X maybe? Hmm
I mean....
It seems to be the go-to for every alternate universe at least.

I should read Hypervelocity again.
The last time they had seen it was when it came out and they hated it (and acted as if personally offended at the twist).
Well, they still hate it.
But hey guess what, I STILL LOVE IT.
My roommates have a lot of entitlement when it comes to geeky/nerdy stuff.
They "deserved" a proper Mandarin.
Let IM3 be its rad thing
I'm hoping I am painting a vivid picture.
I was initially excited for Knives Out because of The Last Jedi!
Ghost Rider and Captain America minis

yeah they look amateur as hell like that
That new team is called The Union and it is from Paul Grist and Andrea De Vito
Paul Grist is a wild get, dude has never written for Marvel and has been largely out of comics for a few years.
I really need to read more of his Jack Staff series

hate her codename so much
Part of why I bounced off! She can just be Spider-Woman, there are multiple Spider-Men, come on
Also the writing on McGuire’s first arc didn’t grab me or feel like the Gwen I knew
Kinda, though Miles just turned 18, and 19 and 17 isn’t like, crazy

Like look at the X-Men/F4 book
Also Miles and Gwen are only like 2 years apart, Mile is a junior or sophomore in high school and I don't really find that weird
I dated a lady 2 years older than me for a few years in high school
