How about instead of a new brain, I give you the strength of 5 gorillas?
How big are these gorillas? Is this some wizard prank where you give me the strength of five implausibly tiny gorillas? I'm not falling for that again.

I have really not seen the appeal of the Gorillaz band
Really I was overjoyed with how bad this week was about yesterday being my Friday with how Sunday was just a horrible day I had to do both the bulk water the 97 wall and the baking aisle as it just boggles the mind how Cap 2 with 23 people failed to really do anything on their shift again
Some of the things is the floor jacks have worn down to be unsafe some of the hinge pins have popped out on a few of the jacks. They continue to use one that has a broken wheel and most have worn out bearings. Just one of the many things with work itself {it does amaze me that the pallet jacks cost a couple of hundred dollars but they refuse replacing them for whatever reason}
Just with how work has gone horribly wrong over the summer has made me really question why did I come back I know it was the lack of offers and starving that drove me back to that hell
I was looking forward to this weekend as I was going to do a lot of stuff now even as I write this it seems quite daunting to even to start all that
So as of tonight I am mathematically guaranteed a promotion that comes with a tasty 5% raise (little over a buck an hour which is nice) provided I pass a test that I have never gotten less than 95% on.
So whoooooooooo!!!

Gorillaz have released a huge amount of really fantastic music over the years, and they've done really cool things with interactive concerts and multimedia 'experiences" but if none of that appeals to you in any way because it's not your bag then yeah, they won't appeal to you very much.
I've always enjoyed how experimental Gorillaz are. They've never really sunk into one particular sound or formula. Not every Song Machine song has quite landed for me but several are great. Désolé, Pac Man and Momentary Bliss are the big stand outs. Saturn's Barz of Humanz is maybe in the top 3 all time Gorillaz songs for me.

"You gonna pay me five times the going rate? No? Then fuck off."
(bet they want to pay in crypto-bucks, too.)
"Oh, so I'm getting founders shares/equity?"
Ideas are fine, but they're miniscule in contribution compared to actually making shit real. You want to flog people like rented mules to make a 10-20x multiple? Sure, but give them enough of a stake to make it worth it.
I woke up with a cough this morning. It's rather persistent and forceful. Come to think of it this was a thing a bit over the weekend, but it was rather mild and only in the morning. I'm sure this is all just my asthma being triggered by a change in the weather and the smoke from the fires, maybe a mild cold or the beginnings of bronchitis because it's been a tick since I had that for the billionth time.
Regardless, I'm working from home today. Lucky that I got a cotton swab shoved up my nose yesterday for my regular covid test.

So remember how the library was going to be closed for two weeks for construction, so I came up with a detailed plan for emptying the book drop and processing mail while we were closed, then they said we'd actually be doing curbside service during construction, then they said that actually it wouldn't be until the middle of October?
Yesterday at about a quarter to five I heard that actually they were going back to their original dates and so now we're curbside only for the next couple of weeks, starting this morning. Hooray for planning.
Work is suddenly cutting telework days to one a week for everyone starting October 5th. This confuses me, because I was under the impression Governor Newsom was explicitly pushing for more teleworking, not less, to help alleviate the budget issues.
Woke up today and I think something I ate last night is not agreeing with me, hard. I could take a sick day but I work from home so its like...should I even bother with the sick day?

Yes you should.
Companies exist to make money, and a lot of companies are gonna look back on all this wfh period and see not only can they save money on real estate, but also on payroll (half your bosses will be sacked), AND on benefits, because nobody will have used any sick/vacation time, so they'll start cutting where they can.
Someone at work keeps taking my Pilot G-2 pens from my pen holder and replacing them with Zebra Z-Grips as if I wouldn’t notice
(G-2s are smooth gel pens, and one of my favourites, tied with the Uniball. Zebra Z-Grips are cheap garbage that are aptly named because in my experience they ‘grip’ the paper and leave little ink splotches/write unevenly)

Looks like someone's about to get a comprehensive field test in whether it hurts more to be stabbed by a Pilot G-2 or Zebra Z-Grip!
I’m leaving the military in a couple months and the job I thought I might get does not exist! No jobs exist, anywhere! Whoops!

@Endless_Serpents grats, but also sheesh.
I found most companies didn't really want to talk to me until I was actually out.
What clearance and what type of work did you do previously/currently? Where are you looking to work?
I won’t talk about it on here but my only real transferable skills are boat driving, everything else I’ve learnt is only applicable in the field or doesn’t count in civilian terms.
I was going to go back into construction (8 years scaffolding, bridge building and concert stage setting), but it’s just not there in the area I call home.
During last winter and the start of this year I was working through my leave periods for a scaffolding firm to get my foot in the door, but it’s gone under today.
The plan was to return to my hometown and lead an ordinary life for a change, but I may end up in Dubai either in construction there, or working with some hokey private contractors.

Do you have a tonnage license? The commercial shipping industry is pretty solid from what I hear.
Yeah, something back out at sea is an option. I’m also looking into border patrol. Honestly I’m not that afraid I’ll be completely out of work, it’s more that I was hoping to have a house I could finally live in.
Email today: do you know when this product will be available?

Hey, everybody!
There is a job opening within my department (graduate school-level IT/AV) that I want to share but not sure what the proper way to go about it (tried to search for an example on here but couldn't find a recent post).
Do I drop the link to the description here with some insight to the job or just have interested forumers DM me for the link and info?

Also check into some of the military bridge programs such as hiring our heroes. It pairs military members who are separating with corporations for internships/careers and mentoring.

If you have The Knack, and don't mind the tech-bro scene - A coding boot-camp might work for you (if they're still doing that) - If you know that coding/maths is not your wheel house, then please disregard.
Also check state/local gov. Most have a preference for hiring vets.

Also, if you type "veteran jobs" into Google, it'll bring up a handy little widget where you can search for jobs in your area by military occupation code. It's kind of a machine translator that connects the skills you learn in the military to the keywords they correspond to on civilian job sites. If nothing else, it's a decent brainstorming tool that might open up some directions you hadn't considered.

I'm low key wanting another lockdown.
For the completely selfish reason that I do not want to go into the office for team meetings once a month starting next month.
Which sounds ridiculous, but I do not want the almost two hour commute on the bus that is happening now because the bridge is broken.
