CoB was the band which got me into the metal scene. Also the first band I've seen live, and went to watch them another two times. I've listened to thousands of hours of their stuff.

He also had a short-lived band with his first wife Kim Goss. Sinergy was basically female fronted power metal with some punk sensibilities.
Off the recommendation of @Straightzi in the holiday forum music thread, I've been listening to a lot of World's Strongest Dog by Long Neck, lately. I really, really like this record! Tickles the Speedy Ortiz/Ratboys/Lady Lamb part of my brain.
"They Shoot Horses" and "Slowly, Slowly" are my favorite songs, but there really ain't on a bum track on the record.

Hell yeah dude, I'm glad you like them. Their first album is also quite good, if you're left wanting more:
I fucking love this song and I can't tell if it's at all listenable if you're not like, really, really plugged in to electric guitar music: https://t.co/plsz9Jdo2g?amp=1

Plini rules, the album he dropped this past November is great.

I really enjoyed this. I don't think I appreciated it as much as a guitarist would mind you

Okay so Bruce Springsteen is one of my top five artists, but there is a caveat, there's a line I will not cross with the Boss, and that line is anything released after Born in the USA.
anyway, one song of his that is drastically underrated is Meeting Across the River. Its placement does it no favors, being immediately overshadowed by fucking Jungleland and it's a weird like, maudlin jazz poetry number.
But there's the story he tells, and the implied history of the narrator and Cherry and Eddie. And who doesn't love the story of a small-time hood trying to get big? This is kinda a recurring thing for Springsteen, I've noticed.
Mighty Mighty Bosstones just dropped an 8 minute ska track featuring Tim Armstrong (Rancid), Aimee Interrupter & The Interrupters, Stranger Cole, Angelo Moore (Fishbone), Jake Burns (Stiff Little Fingers), Jay Navarro (Suicide Machines), Chris DeMakes, Pete Wesilewski, Roger Lima (Less Than Jake), Jimmy G (Murphy’s Law), Toby Morse, Rusty Pistachio (H2O), John Feldman (Goldfinger), Laila Khan (Sonic Boom Six), Robert Hingley (Toasters), Dan Vitale (Bim Skala Bim), Dave McWane (Big D and The Kids Table), Sirae Richardson, Erin Mackenzie, Brie McWane (The Doped Up Dollys), Jesse Wagner (Aggrolites), Karina Denike (The Dance Hall Crashers), Christian Jaccobs (The Aquabats), Jon Pebsworth (Buck O Nine), Peter Porker (The Porkers), Steve Jackson (The Pietasters), Felipe Galvan (Los Skanarles), Jet Baker (Buster Shuffle), Fumio Ito (Kemuri), Glen "The Kid" Marhevka (Big Bad Voodoo Daddy), and Roddy Radiation (The Specials).

They were even able to write a song about Xena that wasn't campy or cheesy, just straight up badass:
