Probably our grandkids will have Speech to Text+ where they just ramble half-formed thoughts and a learning algorithm polishes it up into perfect ALA academic text. And we'll be the cranky old farts being all "back in my day, we had to type ALL the words" and they'll say whatever the future teenage dirtbag translation of "lol get rekt gramps" is.
Not to continue being that guy after taking my virulently anti-facebook stance, but the article skippy linked is another one of my hot button spicy take issues.
All predictive text and auto reply messages should be disabled on all devices. Autocompletion of thoughts by machines is reshaping the way you write in ugly ways, and it's completely stifling self-expression. People increasingly sound homogenous and samey via email. They use the same phrases over and over that might not mean exactly what they want to say but it was really easy to just tap "Got it, thanks!" and have the reply fire off. Our very basic ability to be genuine in small interactions is wasting away.
Even autocorrect is doing this to some degree.
I threw away the gmail app when they added reply suggestions that couldn't be turned off (I think they later went back on this, thank god.)
What I really like in this old post is that in the ye olde times of November 2019, I was like "gee shucks sorry guys for going off about how facebook sucks" and today I am using a paint roller and a bucket of goat's blood to graffiti "COMPLICIT" on the garage door of everyone who hasnt yet deleted their account.
(also autocomplete and auto reply still suck)
Thousands of hot, local singles are waiting to play at bubbulon.com.
Cursive more like smeared all over the page because left-handed
For reason (charitably, let's assume "tradition", rather than "hidebound insanity"), when I went to secondary school, we had to write with _fountain pens_ for at least the first few years, which, combined with being left-handed and not liking the hook-handed approach to writing, meant that the bottom edge of my left hand was pretty much continually stained blue.
These days, Zebra Sarasa pens are the way to go imho, the ink there dries fast -- though to be fair, my handwriting was and still is pretty dreadful -- I write "joined-up", which isn't the same thing as the font that's called "cursive", it just means I don't bother taking my pen off the paper
Wait why would you need to learn to write cursive in order to read it.
Also auto complete is a real good idea to give you a taste of the national food assitance to drugs and the potential for the resurrection of the national cancer society regulates the store and turn one of the national food labels then I have been exposed to the civilians on the ground that was a very good thing.

That one kinda annoys me considering Medusa was defeated by Perseus using her reflection on his shield to locate her, as that was the only way to look upon her. I'd think a Jumbotron image would count as a reflection.

A reflection in a shield would probably be super blurry

Polished bronze. He didn't need to see her every detail, just where to swing his sword.

But that’s not how it works or else Perseus using the mirror shield would have stoned him
Ancient Greek mirrors were either very bad or made of copper. You could get an image but it was pretty much guaranteed to be distorted or the wrong colour at least. So enough to see where to hit but not a true reflection.

it is true that probably the most universally appealing quality in a romantic partner is the ability to cook good food.

I have been pedantic about Greek myths ever since around 95 when Disney’s Hercules came out.
I give that one a pass because Hades
And even then you can roll out of the way.
I'm fascinated by this guy's art style. I can't explain why but I feel like I shouldn't like it. But I absolutely do like it.
