    They have FINISHED 3 others.

EDIT: This is an exaggeration. We know for sure that 2 has been done for years. 3 was filmed with 2 and some of 4 has been filmed as of last year.

I was not kidding, it is getting four
Two sequels to Avatar were initially confirmed after the success of the first film; this number was subsequently expanded to four.[310][311] Their respective release dates were previously December 17, 2021, December 22, 2023, December 19, 2025, and December 17, 2027.[34] Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on cinema in 2020, the four Avatar sequels releases were then delayed; their respective release dates are currently December 16, 2022, December 20, 2024, December 18, 2026, and December 22, 2028.[312]

James Cameron managed to get a Battle Angel Alita film made after having the rights for over 20 years, with a budget of somewhere in the range of $150-200 million, and it made over $400 million at the box office.

You simply cannot ever discount the man's tenacity and ability.

    He should keep at it!

Or fuck off and explore the ocean.

    Wherever life takes him, really.
