Oh fuck. I think I just realized that I completely missed Min Min. I have no clue how... But checking the last page, it seems she completely went by unnoticed.
Now to check the internet to see her release date.
Edit: Shit, April and in super small quantities? Grrr...
He's always been a perfectly serviceable and professional voice actor but I can't take his serious voice roles seriously lmao, he sounds like he's one quip away from taking the piss
(I have a similar personal me-problem with ProZD's professional work too)
Or we getting five sora amiibo
Could go either way

I really don't see why we wouldn't get a Sora amiibo. Disney seemed pretty keen on him getting into Smash Bros. And it's not like he's Mickey Mouse or something, he's barely even their character. It's entirely possible we won't get one but I'm feeling optimistic about it.
It takes about 2 years for amiibo to be made after the fighter was released, so if we dont hear anything concrete by mid 2024 then I will assume Sora isn't getting an amiibo.
I don't normally like 10MPH that much, but I did like the Medieval Times one, so I really enjoyed this new one.
The cast being so cool and supportive when Arin and Dan were doing the stunts was just heartwarming.

So like a week later Best Buy finally got my Sephiroth amiibo in :P Whatever, not like I was in a crazy rush to use it or anything. Was starting to get worried they'd just cancel the order tho, so glad it showed up.
My amiibo left nintendo Australia warehouse on 9 Jan and is still in transit.
Sigh maybe tomorrow
I blame the wildlife.
Stolen by Dingos confirmed :P
Oh, and random side note - when I went to go get my amiibo from Best Buy found out the store was closing. I was about to be upset and then I said to myself, "literally when is the last time I went here for something that was not an amiibo?" (because fuck paying $4 shipping for a $12 item). I swear those stores are not long for this world...
Why didn’t Lady Byleth get an amiibo? Come on, Nintendo.
Because dumb. Honestly I think amiibos have largely died as a fad and Nintendo realized this ("why make two of the same character when they won't sell?"). They're probably mostly doing the Smash Bros DLC ones out of social obligation. Otherwise they barely ever make new ones anymore except for their big tentpole titles.
Still, it annoys me that like Corrin got a "player 2" and no one else. FFS, female Robin is my favorite, why do you hate me Nintendo? There's a lot of other characters this would have worked nice with too, like Olimar, Bowser Jr, etc.
I can't stand the video titles nowadays. Wanna watch one of their Observation Duty videos? Just look for uh... Dan Messed up! Or perhaps uh... We shit ourselves!
I'm kidding, look up a fan playlist that reorganizes the shit show they turned the channel's organization into to nakedly trend chase for 12 year olds taking a brief break from Tik Tok. Or stop regularly watching it, which is probably what most of the original viewers have done. It's just a nightmare to never know what they're playing, if playing that will last more than one episode, if there was actually a whole series of this but it was running two weeks ago with a thumbnail of Dan frowning (instead of the game), etc. I hate it, it's awful.
What’s frustrating is Arin and Dan’s chemistry is as excellent as ever. They somehow remain just as funny and easy to watch as ever. It sucks that they’re hamstrung in so many ways by the algorithm and by what kind of content remains popular.
Granted, it might be that they prefer the one-offs or short series themselves from a production perspective, can’t rule that out.
God, what a shit sandwich of a world it would be if they didn’t give Tears of the Kingdom a proper playthrough.
Emulating things seems like a shame when they started the channel with a massive wall of the real, physical games to play. Then they, I guess got rid of (donated) the bulk of that stuff and don't do much in the way of prep work to make sure the session won't be a disaster (except for audio issues, the main tech Arin cares about).
All of the comments are dragging them for the exact thing I pointed out, feels good. But also, guaranteeing a long series is a good return to form for them.
If I can't tell what the game is by the title or the thumbnail, I don't watch it.
And I know all of it is because of the algorithm so I do my part by not supporting this nonsense. If something is part 2, put part 2 in the title. I clicked on something recently thinking it was a one-off and it was part 2 or 3 to a series. It sucks.
Happy to report the latest episode has a 2 on the thumbnail...although it's not in the video title and the name of the game is absent.
Really enjoyed the Colossal Cave episode. The beginning is a bit long to get through before they actually start playing, but once they start and Dan is able to ask some leading questions about the older Sierra games, it's just fascinating.
I saw a YouTube comment that said something along the lines of "Arin has finally met his match: the unskippable tutorial".
I won't lie, after about 6 minutes I started skipping forward.
Ooh they're playing pizza tower? I've been meaning to grab it, but I haven't really had free time. I loved the old Wario Land games it keeps getting compared to.
No joke, I still have an original GameBoy that my uncle gave me when I was a kid, and it runs perfectly fine. Those things are real heavy duty. The only game I still have for it is Wario Land 3, which I boot up every few months just to goof around in for an hour or two of nostalgia.
I've seen a few people put off by the late-90s grotesque animation style it deliberately invokes. Like the way Pepino's eyes pop out of his head in the status window during escapes was viscerally upsetting to them.
You take any particular art style you're gonna get some subset of people that don't like it. I personally don't like the "CalArts" style, myself.
Whenever talk of the "CalArts Style" comes up I like to note that Kid Goku from the late 80's Dragon Ball anime would fit in perfectly as a 2010's Steven Universe character.

I mean that show is an unabashed 'homage' of Dragonball, so yeah?
I'm just pointing out Kid Goku's rockin' that bran mouth.
Also Steven Universe is 1000% the Western cartoon with the most anime references and I'm betting over half the production team was made up of big ol' weebs. One of the recurring locations was literally an homage to the Junji Ito story "The Enigma at Amigara Fault", a pair of characters wear parts of Kamina from Gurren Lagann's outfit, lots of subtle to blatant Revolutionary Girl Utena references, etc.
To be fair there's also a character that is heavily based on Zim from Invader Zim.

Doh, I tried to put the ping in there but I guess it didn't work
Doh, I'll have to remember this for the future
Haven't watched any Ghoul Grumps this year, too busy. But this is nice.
I was extremely surprised when it started playing.

I didn't live through the horrors of war only to miss the best holiday specials the Grumps do.
Love these.

Arin freebases sugar, to predictable, hilarious results.

Constructive criticism CAN work.
