Learning that pretty much every conspiracy theory has its roots in anti-semitism made them a lot less fun to read up on and investigate as a weird thing I know a bunch about.

Even the theories that didn't start out that way tend to get co-opted/infected by antisemitism e.g. the Illuminati.

Yeah, I've always figured (per previous posts) that most conspiracy theory is a way of struggling with and denying insignificance. How terrible would it be if the world is too big and complex for anyone to comprehend or control, and we're all just flailing and fumbling blindly along? with some having slightly more ability to nudge things this way or that, for their own selfish reasons, but no overall plan or purpose.

But I guess once you're there, it's a small additional step to "so who is in charge?" "I dunno, the Jews?" "sure, let's go with that."

My father is dying, so I've had a lot of time to think of the more serious aspects of ones death.

The theory is that the algorithmic T-shirt generators are able to catch on to "put a statement with "IS" in bold with fish around it" and "there are puns about largemouth bass" and didn't exactly get anything else right.

Its fine I've done my emotional lifting here as much as I can. I know that my good memories of him will live on and I'll pass those on to my son so he'll outlive himself as a lot of others before have done.

The joke is that Bones isn’t about finding actual bones, it’s about everyone on Bones’s team boning one another and making work awkward

I just couldn't stand Bones, it was like a show about super smart people that couldn't function as adults but like we're supposed to think they're cooler than us because of that.
