that's a good rank to get, so much loot. I should get around to collecting the big portion of gear I've ignored the last six months or whatever to get the next mr, but cyberpunk...
So the glaze, setting on the countertop, was slowly added to hot water from the kettle. Mixed slowly to dilute it. Then I added the last of the pasta. Then I added a scoop of onions. Glaze should have been diluted more but holy shit.
More fuel right off the bat for my old theory that
Miquella's a sketchy manipulator with mind control powers.
I think that's a fair enough assumption.
The lore surrounding Miquella has been dancing around the idea that he's dangerous and frightening, in the use of his light and love. There's some cut dialogue regarding that, but in-game, we have the Bewitching Branch item.
"The Empyrean Miquella is loved by many people. Indeed, he has learned very well how to compel such affection."
There's also things you can read into regarding Miquella's choices and beliefs that can paint a subtly sinister picture of him. The whole "unalloyed gold" concept, for one. IIUC, the reason it's unalloyed is because he rejects the current state of golden order fundamentalism, which allows previously taboo and rejected things to be integrated into the order. That presumably being why none of their power could cure Malenia. The Golden Order is gold, alloyed with other materials/concepts. I imagine Miquella wouldn't care at all for the concept of the Elden Ring being repaired with new concepts that change the order, either.
There's also whatever was going on with Castle Sol to wonder about. What was up with the eclipse worship going on there in his name?

It's looking like a stand-alone expansion? Also they dumped the PS4/XBONE versions, so this looks like it might even be upgraded engine as well? So many questions!

What? Aw crap.
I guess it's finally time to get a PS5...
TBH, I imagine playing the game on PS5 will be better. Does that version have quicker load times after deaths?
Story stuff: Here's the description of the DLC from the trailer description.
“The Land of Shadow. A place obscured by the Erdtree. Where the goddess Marika first set foot. A land purged in an unsung battle. Set ablaze by Messmer’s flame. It was to this land that Miquella departed. Divesting himself of his flesh, his strength, his lineage. Of all things Golden. And now Miquella awaits the return of his promised Lord.”
Thoughts:
So this definitely sounds like "Lands Betweeen long ago", back before the Erdtree became the spiritual tree it is now, and long before the Shattering.
Messmer is clearly a very important character. BUt who they are, exactly, is not clear yet. Still, anything associated with a special Flame is going to be a big player.
Miquella divested himself "of his flesh, his strength, his lineage. Of all things Golden." That's an interesting description of things. The first thing that comes to mind is this: Mohg's entire plan was doomed from the start, if this is the case. Miquella was never there in the body Mohg stole from the Haligtree. He was never going to accomplish anything with his creepy rituals.

Yes significantly faster. I just upgraded to a PS5 slim this week and the difference is substantial. My OG PS4 would take on average 10-15 seconds of loading, particularly if my last grace was in some highly detailed area, whereas with the PS5 it's around 2-3 seconds at most.
I would add that the PS5 does get significantly warmer than my PS4 as well, so if you do upgrade, make sure you place it in a spot with plenty of ventilation.
Eight new weapon types is perhaps the craziest thing I've read about this.
I wonder if we'll see the return of the vertical ultra greatsword moveset, either as a new weapon type or just a new weapon under colossal sword or weapon?
I wouldn't be shocked if we get some other colossal weapon. Something goofy like a colossal dagger or whip.
I'd pay 40 just for weapon types if there are even, like, two or three good ones. Like if we got 'chain swords' and 'great/colossal chain sword' as a type, give us analogues to the threaded cane and beast cutter.
40 is a lot for one new zone worth of content... and compared to souls DLC in the past. Hmm.
Depends entirely on what map density is like. If it's overworld density akin to Limgrave itself, then that's not nearly as much as if it's a crunchier map. How many Stormveil Castles can you fit into West/East/South Limgrave? 15+?

Our robot vacuum has a 50/50 chance of making it past this transition from hard floor to carpet due to the height of the carpet at the transition. Any suggestions? I tried putting a rug over it but it just looked awkward and ugly. Do they make little ramps or something for this kind of thing?

I personally prefer the $40 instead of piece meal content DLC packs and MTX, etc... Return to the "pay to play" days of old. Plus this will definitely be a massive chunk. Game Director said it's From's biggest DLC yet.

February release has been the rumor for a while, hasn't it? Everyone assumed it was fake after nothing at any recent event, but...
The fucking week before FFVII Rebirth!?
They wouldn't.
Didn't Elden Ring crush Remake in sales? And Rebirth is a PS5 exclusive. I dunno how much that'd make them hesitate.
Don't worry. It's going to be the 21st March.
It's probably not a good time to start a witcher 3 playthrough until we know the date huh.

I made angel hair pasta

$40 for DLC is steep so maybe it is just ole the olde style expansion.

I said "Holy shit" out loud two times. Once during the lush bright blue samurai fight and once again when the martial arts set showed up.
The one truly good kind.
