Someone nearby has a 40" Trinitron they're getting rid of and I am having a difficult time getting my brain/heart (get it!) to listen to my back (you fucking idiot!).
Either there was never a kidney stone and I just had an infection or I passed it without knowing. I'm no professional but I was under the impression that passing a kidney stone is pretty apparent.
Its not always apparent, the last one I had that I got when I was in the er I didn't feel pass. I only realized it had passed when I was like oh theres no pain on my left said anymore.

Either way congrats on hopefully feeling better!
The pain I don't think was ever that bad but had been gradually reducing with the antibiotics. Considering there's still some lingering ache and tenderness, I'm pretty sure I just had an infection on the heels of the fever from last week.
My insurance sucks too so the scan was not cheap. Where'd I put my doohickey?
Once it went there I never noticed it again. Did it break up? Come out? Is it still rattling around inside? Who knows! But it's been like a year and a half now I think.
I has a bit of roguelike in it too, with item/enemy/layout randomization. Also a Battle Royale style shrinking map, that could have some interesting decisions (try tougher area for potentially better gear, but at the cost of taking more time). Probably doesn't sound great for people who just want another ER/DS, but I'm excited.

As the former owner of a 36", bring 3 friends to help carry it
We didn't drop it or anything, but bringing it up to the 3rd floor apartment with only 3 of us was harrowing
where we have to run 143 yards in 44 seconds or less.
Why 143 yards?
If I remember correctly it's supposed to be the longest distance we might be required to run if we ever came under attack. Not that anyone is dumb enough to run in a flat sprint out in the open with the possibility of snipers, but it is what it is.

You actually only need to run 40 yards but it works out to 140 once you add in the serpentine maneuvering to avoid the snipers
Yeah, but it's only about 15ish lbs of stuff. AR15, magazines, radio, and chest rig. Used to also have a Glock, pistol mags, OC spray, gasmask, and handcuffs, but they took that stuff away. Mostly it's having it unevenly distributed around our body that sucks; I pull a muscle in my back almost every time.

Maybe it's because they're expecting attack by crocodile so that 40 yard run ends up 140. Same tactic as avoiding snipers.
We actually DO have some alligators in the lake! They aren't native to this area (man-made lake) so the only way I know of that they got here is someone(s) must have brought and released them years back lol. Saw one on camera that was about 10-12 feet long, just a big ol boi sunning by a bunch of egrets and vultures
Wednesday night was a windy one. And around 7:55pm, I heard a gust, followed by what sounded like a truckload of gravel hitting my window. It was very startling. I opened the blinds and through the darkness I could see a tree branch. I stepped outside to discover that our neighbor's dead tree (which had been dead for about 2 years) had fallen and narrowly missed our home. Some of the outer branches hit the roof on the way down, but it doesn't look like there was any damage since it was so brittle. I knocked on my neighbor's door to let them know and they were surprised. Fortunately, we have a pretty friendly neighborly relationship.
Yesterday he came by to say he contacted his insurance company to see about any liability and also contacted a tree company to come by and take care of it.
My wife is still pretty annoyed that they never took it down before this happened. She gave them contact information for tree companies twice, but they were waffling on it because they're big birdwatchers "it's a nice habitat for birds."
Anyway, hoping the tree removal people arrive today, and I'm glad it didn't do any real damage.

Yeah, I might have been more excited for another Elden Ring DLC, but this definitely looks cool. I enjoy a good action RPG coop experience, Granblue Fantasy: Relink was a good time for me and my friends.
Though if you'd told me there'd be a Fromsoft Elden Ring reveal and a Naughty Dog new IP reveal and I'd be more excited by the latter beforehand, I might have thought you were insane.
Just as I left the house this morning, I heard a clicking noise while driving away. Yep, picked up a screw in the tire. Second one this year. Friggin keep sharp objects off the road, jerks!

I've tried to enjoy the show in the intervening years since it ended but yeah, Louis is such an incomprehensibly monstrous psychopath that I can never make it more than an episode or two before she kills it for me. You don't get multiple nightmare kids like that without causing that yourself somehow, so all her claims about how they tried to be good, gentle parents with Francis ring utterly, utterly hollow for me.
Not to mention how much she completely and utterly fucked over Malcolm's life to live out her plans for him. The guy had a golden ticket to a good life where he'll never have to worry about food or healthcare or clothes or any other necessity ever again and Louis ruins it all with her insane delusion that he could become President. Unless she had some mega-billion fund in her back pocket she was keeping secret from the family, no, no sane person would ever think a kid from their family could be President, particularly since Malcolm had no particular interest in politics on his own.
The show is so massively focused on Boomer ideals it ruins the whole thing for me. I would be even less interested in another round of that.

aside from the meme clips I never really got into MitM
I'm glad Frankie Muniz was actually a genius and invested his money well, even though it was in fucking parking garages.
Is he doing better? He had a lot of health problems right after he started racing but I haven't heard anything in a while.

I think the only time I’ve ever seen my dad show a hint of vulnerability was his reaction to seeing Lois on MitM and her reminding him of his own insane mom to the point he changed the channel

The first season was good, then it became too much family and I never cared for the brother's bootcamp/lumberjack story, and yeah the mom was unbearable. Then they made her pregnant again because she was pregnant in real life and I always hate that, half the time it never feels natural in a show.
Red One looked like an irredeemable piece of shit from the first second of the trailer.
Red one looked like the kind of movie that could have been fun but because they cast the rock and he seemed determined to play it as straight as possible it was kind of doomed.
I thought Red One's story was supposed to be centered Simmons. All the advertising features him. I didn't even know Johnson was in it until I saw a random Pitch Meeting. Which, no thanks.
Hal was every bit as insane as Lois. His madness was always directed inward instead.

I grew up with three brothers, so I found a particular enjoyment out of Malcolm in the Middle many others might not fully appreciate. I can say that my parents were good people, loved each other, and taught us how to live upstanding moral lives, and in return we often made their lives utter hell.
All the characters in the show are flawed in some fundamental way, Lois included*. Based on my own experience, I can completely buy in to the idea that she rules with an iron fist simply to make sure her kids don’t accidentally kill themselves, much less meeting all their other needs and keeping them as well-adjusted as possible.
I mean Reese is literally a psychopath. And yet somehow comes out of it not in prison, not dead, and with a job he enjoys. Lois’ neuroticism is exaggerated for comedy, but even given that, I have a hard time buying into the idea that she’s some kind of monster who is the real cause of all her family’s issues. She contributes to it, sure, but ALL of them do. Their whole family is nuts. That’s like the whole premise of the show.
*Dewey is the exception. Out of all of them, he’s the only one that might be considered “normal.”

Honestly, the way people watch shows is wild to me. Do people watch Blackadder and go huh well he’s not very nice is he?
