Do you all prefer monthly donations or one bigger lump sum?

Either is perfectly okay! We will ALSO be launching a proper recurring donation drive later on for people to kick in a few bucks a month to cover ongoing costs, but if you'd prefer to do that now via paypal instead of a lump sum, that's also cool. Or both! Or neither! I promise, your presence is enough.

But your money is also nice.

I've chatted a bit with Zonugal about this, but a proper fundraiser auction with items from the community like art or services would be a ton of fun later on to raise money for Coin Return (though with the level of organization, perhaps this is for when we're settled there)

I'd love to contribute some of my infinity mirror art, hair accessories I design, or weird props at some point

Here is the catch to remember. People being here is what makes here work. There is a perception that certain large personalities are key, or that if they left everything would fall apart. This is, in my experience, largely inaccurate. Big personalities rise and fall. It is the everyday people that make the place work. You need a critical base of support or otherwise you are done. If you have a big enough name it can pull people in, but whether or not the community thrives is on the people. The vast majority of interaction is with people whose forum name you kinda know, and who bring a perspective that strike a chord with you.

Being here helps a ton. Money is only one component of it. We need you, so many of you, to make this place be worth putting a single dime into.

That is absolutely something we've talked about doing, maybe even on an annual basis as a fundraiser for the community, and I would personally love the chance for a bunch of our talented artists and craftspeople to contribute something cool that folks could buy or bid on to help us fund this place.

And also, your work slaps, so that would rule.

Hell, New Jersey, it said on the letter. Delivered without comment. So be it!

Yes. Only dibbit, myself, zonugal, and delzhand have access to it, so we can see real names. I don't know any way around that, if it's a concern, I'm afraid. But I can promise it will not be revealed outside of that circle under any circumstance without express permission. Also, if you don't mention your forum name in the notes, we have no way to tie it to a particular member here.

You absolutely ridiculous, generous, awful, beautiful creatures.

Look what you DID to our poor thermometer!

    hdwazm3fjwax.png

Just to be clear - we will only reveal one milestone unlock PER DAY to keep the fun going, but you've already blown through ALL of our initial goals.

Little did you know we might just have some... stretch goals. But that will come later! And I promise all of the upcoming reveals will be extremely fun! Please keep the donations coming in. The more runway we have, the less stress it will be ensuring this new place stays open and stable, and we'll be able to invest in more fun and QoL improvements we couldn't otherwise justify!

You all fucking KICK ASS. I'm so proud of you.

I had to do like six captchas to donate, and I'm worried that we might be driving away the lucrative bot market. There's got to be at least a couple who have come to love this place after years of trying to sell us boner pills and sunglasses.

This whole process has really gotten me to re-evaluate the amount of value I've gotten for free from these forums over the years. In any other form of media that would have been worth a staggering amount of money. And while the Coin Return team may not have been personally responsible for all of that history, it's only fair that I should help balance the scales to preserve it.
