I must point out my utter dissapointment in the title of this thread.
Re-Vamped website? With a capital V........it gives the impression that Vampires lie within, however I'm yet to see a single fucking vampire in this thread. Even still, I continue to click in the vain hope that Nosferatu will be in residence, yet my dissapointment continues to compound with each new visit....
So either change the title or draw some freakin vampires.

Can I just say you must have the patience of a saint....the little fine details you put into your work would drive me to the point of bonkers and beyond.
thanks, sueve. I've been digging through old botanical illustrations lately. they're just so fascinating and detailed, i decided to try some out myself. Mine are pretty basic, but i really enjoy trying out the stye.
Okay, so here's a pretty big project. I was asked to do a mural near my house, with any topic of my choosing.
I chose to do sort of a folk-arty landscape of fairy-tale characters.
here's the first sketch with color:
spoiler for larger version:
Here's the final sketch at about 350% the size of the first one.
spoiler for really big image again:
aaaaand a sample of my inking so far:
holy crap, awesome. I *was* going to suggest having a troll under the bridge or something, but if you're already at the inking stage, I'm not sure how much you'd be willing to change. (I'm all for adding in small bits when I can, to really make people *search* for the new fairytales, rather than just presenting a handful and filling up the rest of the picture with foliage. I would've suggested making some of the more "empty" sections contain more stuff), which I think would work especially well with a mural-format).
P.S. You get internet points for the bear checking the mailbox.
I agree, NightDragon. I would like to add a few little details to fill some of the space. (the troll is still do-able, and I plan to add him behind the bridge, thanks for the idea) I was toying around with the idea of just throwing some random creatures/monsters in the blank spaces, but I'm still hesitant since most of the characters are part of a specific story. I'll sketch it out and see if it works.

I really love this, though inking it must be like performing surgery. One slip and it's fucked.
This is why I don't do traditional, I just can't handle the stress of making a balls of something you've spent forever on.
Every time I look I see something new. I was about to ask about Pus-n-boots, then saw Puss-outa-boots! (or boots lying next to him). There is a little something everywhere. It's like Where's Waldo, but with folk tales. The more I look, the more I like this.
EDIT: Would you ever sell that? If so, for how much?
You mean the original? I'm not sure, since I intended this piece to be colored digitally and re-printed. but after that was done, I was kinda toying with the idea of water-coloring the original, so we'll see.
I love your line-work. It must be difficult inking the lines by hand knowing there is very little room for error. I totally respect you! Can't wait to see the final digital colour (and water colour hopefully:))

I adore your work.
I don't know why, but I'm not really fond of the duck.

I added a few extra characters here and there, as per your suggestion, NightDragon.
