belruel is probably still engrossed in the last twilight book
i said to her "don't read these they are awful"
and like all others before her, myself included, she read them, got hooked and will love/hate both them and me upon finishing
My aunt read those twilight books
We have one of them around here
I want to read it just so I can hate it with a fiery passion that rivals the intensity of the sun

This is why men will always be smarter than women.
Maybe if I actually get that Christmas card you promised.
Oh, man, it's almost that time of year for Secret Satans.
I'm going to have a hard time topping previous years this time. I don't have crazy foreign shit to fall back on and Goddamned if I am buying anybody else a TV.

I am so gay
omg didn't you love jacob black way more than edward cullens? at the end of the second one i was all "screw you edward, this native boy is better"
I grew up about 60 miles from where the Twilight series is supposed to take place. I was even engaged to a girl who'd grown up there.
But man, I cannot be fucking bothered to read those books, despite my occasional dalliance with children's lit.
i heard that la push and first beach and even the tribe of native people are all actually real, she didn't change the names
i want to go to forks
and meet a vampire

Hahaha...they feature La Push and First Beach?
Is the Big Tree in it?
no i don't think so what's that?
the tribe they talk about a lot is called the Quiletes I think.
something like that
apparently these people can (snowbeat don't click this)
someone in the last book thread was talking about the twilight series, and how vampires don't come out in sunlight because they sparkle like fairies. is this true? like, for reals?
guilty pleasure during elementary and middle school.
K.A. Applegate's Animorphs
guilty pleasure my ass. those were decent books for their audience. not beautiful works of literature that will be remembered throughout the ages, but better than Stine's crap.
edit: anyone who thinks that Twilight was decent, get the fuck out now

The Big Tree (or Big Cedar) is exactly what it sounds like: a really massive tree. There's a little mini-park and turn-off for it, out past First Beach (closer to Second or Ruby Beaches, I think). Teenagers often go there to...uhhhhhh...well, never mind.
And it's the Quileutes, but yes, they're the ones from La Push. I worked out that way when I was in AmeriCorps.

she didn't even write most of her stuff, and near the end I was just reading the first paragraph of each chapter and was totally able to follow what happened and where it would go. But I still loved it.

He's got his job.
I guess.
I know right
I think I skipped that thread because I was like "fuck those books" and left without reading the rest
It was pretty great until Naporeon said mean things about me after I said nice things about him!
Forgive me?

started with Slaughterhouse-Five, then went straight into Breakfast of Champions, which I think was a mistake
picked up The Sirens of Titan next, which is jarringly different. It's less of a rambling discourse on humanity and more of a weird sci-fi novel
right now I'm also reading On Stranger Tides, by Tim Powers

It's plain old scientific fact.

The Stephen King/Peter Straub collaboration The Talisman is one of my favorite novels
Close second is Shadowland by Peter Straub.
So yeah.

I'll snag it when she's done
But I mean, aside from how retardedly ridiculous the main relationship is, it's not a bad read whatsoever.
it's so wonderful
Come the fuck on
This sounds like it was written for a teenage girl
I didn't know this at all
I don't usually pay attention to books written for teenage girls
Dumbass
She wrote YA shit.
It was about the worst crap I'd ever read, and basically destroyed our relationship.
