And two and a half men and the big bang theory are super popular shows with amazing ratings
Lots of people like shitty things, that does not keep it from being shitty.
I mean, the thing is, I want to like the show.
I wanted it to be good. And it does some action and tension and stuff well. But a lot of the things in the show seem determined to make me want to hate it.
I've made a point of never reading the comics because even though the show is not meant to be a literally pull of the comics and instead they just provide a loose base, I don't want to know anything about what might happen
yeah, if you'd read the comics you'd just be disappointed about the cool stuff they changed in the show
Shane's character was handled really poorly, for one. though I guess that might've had something to do with the show's demographic apparently loving a horrible psychopath with zero redeeming qualities?
i didn't say that that was the ONLY criticism of the show
but yes I took this post and said that this is a reason people think the show is not so good

Apparently what dragged down the Jurassic Park and back to the future stuff a bit was just really forced references to things that ended up being out of place and weird.
Also lots of other things. This one fixed those problems.
Just picked up Masters of Doom after reading Orik's review. No idea how I have never gotten around to reading this, but hopefully it will be pleasant company for flying cross country
I like that the main character is black, and I also like that he bucks the sympathetic prisoner trend by actually being guilty of his crime, but I don't know if I like these things together, you know?
I know it's silly and they probably didn't even think about it, but i don't like that someone might be able to say "well of course he did it, he's black!"

if we had the technology i would publish a book about video games and every page would be embedded with the clip of that guy from revenge of the nerds 2 screaming NERRRRRRRRDS
One is like an enjoyable space opera with hella breathing room. Two is the best action RPG ever. Three is like learning bushido and the way of The Mad Death. And its multi is fun. Unfortunately, when it gets old it would be hard to get back into

You do seem to be saying that the differences are what makes the show bad to these people, when it is not.
It is the fact that the dialogue is fucking atrocious.
The boat scene on the lake being a shining example.

you might not like the writing in the game (and I certainly do not think it is all very good), but a huge amount of people do not mind it.

my bad
it's just that if you have interesting and at least semi-compelling stuff happen in the source material
and you abandon those characters and plot lines just to make the show darker in a quick and easy way
that's sloppy writing
but yeah, I'm going to check out that game. heard the Jurassic Park one was bad and just dismissed it, but that Giant Bomb video changed my mind
Also lots of other things. This one fixed those problems.
No plans on touching the second season (never read the comic either)
