My thought was "When did LeBeef kill a fucking bear?!"

And then Rooster answered my thought with, "You are not LeBeef" and I just fucking lost it.

Also, Animal Noises was Ned's brother I think. And I would guess he was In The Book, so that's why he was there. I'm going to have to read the book now. I want to see how well written Mattie is.

Maybe I'm just getting crotchety, but holy fuck were people annoying during this movie.

I don't need to know that the guy walking to the cabin at night is probably LeBeef. I don't care if "that sure wasn't good". STFU, people.

The way they portrayed him I couldn't tell if he was batshit crazy, or mentally disabled. He just struck me as a poor attempt at comic relief and was the only thing in the movie that didn't work for me. Which is very, very minor.

    pretty much

although I did like that he was the first person to get shot

Interestingly enough after seeing the movie I'd have to say that it wasn't really the plot that made the movie at all, but the characters. Every single character was great, and I really like the portrayal of the 'evil' characters, but I just wish they had done a little bit more with the 'main' evil guy (can't remember names), Bear Man, and Crazy man. I thought Ned was pretty well done, but those three I wish so much they had done a little bit more with.

    Movie was good though.

I would put this as my #3 movie of the year behind Inception and The Social Network.

But that's not to take anything away from it, there have been a lot of years it could have been #1 easily.

I just saw this. It was a lot funnier than I'd expected. Jeff Bridges continues to amaze me in everything he does.
I really liked the contrast between LaBeef and Rooster. You got LaBeef how I saw as this guy who was trying to be the ideal, stereotypical Texas Ranger, and you better not mess with him and all that. He had a few lines where I thought he was definitely trying to kinda make himself look better to the other two, keep up this image of the "Texas Ranger". And here's Rooster who's supposed to be kind of a good guy but he's got that dark streak to him. Not sure if he's got what it takes but then he goes and shoots a piece of cornbread in the air with his one eye. Really enjoyed the juxtaposition.

And Mattie was rad as balls, I hope we see more of her in other films.

Does DVD officially stand for Digital Video Disc or Digital Versatile Disc?

The latter seems to make more sense by Wikipedia says both and I can't be bothered to do any further research.

This movie is pretty awesome. Definitley got the Coen Bros. treatment and is very differant from the original in tone, but almost word for word in dialogue in places. Both movies are excellent, I prefer the original but probably only because I saw that first, everyone should watch both films

According to wikipedia the DVD initialism is never officially defined

I've heard it called video disk more than versatile disk though
