So I'm finally totally stuck in Psychonauts. I'm in what I assume is the well known 'Milkman' level and I've just gained access to the sewers. I have a feeling I need to somehow gain access to a nearby telephone pole, but so far I can't figure it out.

    ... man I sure hope that -
I wasn't expected to use the Crow Feather so they think I'm a bird and don't care if I get on the pole. That would be.. a leap.

Oh god, didn't realize that Jeor Mormont was voicing Death in #2, so awesome.

I think you might be getting things mixed up there. The guy who played Jeor Mormont was in an ad for Darksiders II. It looks like the voice of Death is Michael Wincott.

So Kung Fu Strike is out. 3D beat 'em up with Street Fighter IV-inspired-looking visuals. Seems like it could be a hoot but sadly no demo.

Incidentally, Dr. Mario Kart/Shane200 is a member of the main Penny Arcade group. I suggest he be kicked. I have admin rights on Adventure Team but not the big group or I would do it myself.

Hey, guys. thejadefalcon here, one of the mods on SteamGifts. I got pointed here by a support ticket and decided to sign up, answer any of your questions you may have, just generally try to be involved in the community surrounding SG (though I probably come off more like that old whiffy grandpa who tries to be in with the hip young crowd).

I signed up, so I can help answer any questions about that or anything else you might be curious about.

I've already put in a support ticket about this, but since you're here I'll take advantage of your presence and my impatience by asking if it's acceptable to create group giveaways for legitimate copies of Dead Island and Bulletstorm, or if there's some sort of blanket ban on any giveaways for those titles.

Thanks for stopping by, as well.

I've replied to your ticket. Giftable copies are a-okay (just mention it in the giveaway to be safe). The only giveaways for exploited games we'll delete are for keys and even those are fine as long as you submit proof of purchase along with the giveaway.

have people been exploiting keys for those games or something?

Actually I do have a question: We oftentimes make group giveaways using either of two by invite steam groups associated with the community. The problem is both of those groups at one point or another have allowed some unscrupulous people in who only seem to show up during steam sales ever since word got out about our runaway gifting addictions in this community. Oftentimes it's impossible to catch these people until they end up winning a steamgifts contest.

Most people here who make giveaways that way often include text in the description referring to them being able to prove that the winner is an active member of the community or they will have a mod reroll the contest. Is that enough protection for the giver or do they need to be more specific in their forewarning and what would we need to provide to you guys to prove that they where actually in violation to our rules?

It is pretty amazing and i always sell the game on that. "Oh Darksiders? Best Zelda game and it has the most amazing end line".
When that happened my first reaction "oh shit yeah!" then "damn you credits!!!!"

Atleast you don't have to wait years for the sequel like those of us who played it day one and finished it in the same week. I would've been pissed were it not for the fact that it was so much awesome.

This is me. My sister commented at the time, that she could not remember the last time I consumed a game as quickly as I did.

There's no real point in replaying it, is there (other than Darksiders being a wonderful game)? I haven't really been following the development in Darksiders 2.

I can't remember the specifics of either game, but the usual reason a game gets put on our exploited list is because some site accidentally leaked a few billion keys, making any keys untrustworthy, since they could be removed from the winner's account at any point as we have no way of proving their legitimacy.

And yeah, if a giveaway is for a specific community, you're fully within your rights to get it rerolled if someone somehow snuck in there without being an active member. That sort of thing doesn't even really need to have permission asked for extraneous rules. Just mention in the descriptions that you'll ask for a reroll if they're not an active member of the community. That sometimes discourages them from entering in the first place. Sometimes.

    @Tofystedeth

You need to send more constructers at your star base to add modules. If you send a fleet of constructors, you can build multiple modules at once. If you have a fleet of constructors and use the build command (after double clicking the fleet to bring it up) you will be able to build the starbase and multiple modules at once.

@anoffday First thing you should do is take your flagship and double click it to bring up the commands for it. Most will be greyed out but the ones you want to pay attention to are auto explore and auto examine (i think).
You want your flagship set to auto examine, this will make it fly around in your empire's range and examine any anomolies you find. This nets you random bits of gold and random bonuses to your empire.

Auto explore on the other hand will set any vessel with this command to exploring the range of your empire and visiting any blank spots in the map. Scouts which have already stripped down to just and engine and a hull are good for this, maybe some sensors and a range expansion. Scouting is important to the mid game when you have to research better colonization techniques to take the worlds around you. Its prevents you from researching heavy gravity colonization when there are 5 water worlds around you.

    My advice
First turn, open up the economy screen and turn your economy to 100% output, the game starts you at 70%. This stars you operating in the yellow but you start with 2000 credits so big woop.

You also want to turn down the military slider after you pop a scout, don't pop a construction unit unless there's a resource close by or a good world to colonize that's close to your homeworld.

Depending on how good your race's culture is, you may want to ignore planets with quality < 10 near your star system and jump for better ones further out. Especially if there's a better planet you can colonize right away. These weaker planets can be blasted with influence and converted to your glorious rule in the mid and late game.

don't build colonies faster than your economy can support them.

The default ships are good to a point but research into miniaturization and building miniaturizing achievements will let you get more into the same hull (while making it more expensive). Don't be afraid to jump into ship building and turn out a little hellion.

Clash of the Gods is a good map mode to play around in without research holding you down.
