Spider-man: Web of Shadows is pretty fucking fun so far, but damn is his voice actor bad. I was way hoping for an Iron Fist appearance after seeing Luke Cage.
From what I saw of the Klyka LP, it gets a lot better. None of that whiny shit.

So devil may cry IV is really pissing me off. I just reached the Snatch puzzle type thing just after the torture room in Fortuna Castle, it's early on. I've finally finished Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee. The one thing that it and The Lost Vikings have taught me is that platformers really aren't my cup of tea. I'll definitely finish Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, but I'm now extremely glad I didn't buy Braid for $2.50 or Trine for $5.00.

Big time.
With funds I got for Christmas, I bought Uncharted 2 and Assasin's Creed 2 at TRU during their buy 1, get 1/2 off sale. I also bought Silent Hill off of the PSN because for some reason I decided I wanted to play it. I don't know if this counts, but I also got Rock Band 2 off of Goozex and paid for the import of RB 1 songs, but that's more of a convenience thing than anything. My wife also surprised me with Wii Sports Resort, but I had no idea she was going to do that so you can't hold it against me. Also RB2 and Wii Sports Resort aren't going on the list because they're more for having fun with our son as opposed to finishing.

On the bright side, I don't think any of the purchases were made in 2010, so for this year, so far I'm clean.

Man, I was hoping to get some real progress on Darksiders done, but on Friday night I got stuck, got the shits with it and turned it off. I spent the weekend playing some songs in Rock Band (which isn't on my backlog), but I did 1 mission in Dawn of War 2. I'm still curious about that game - I love 40k, RTS games, action RPGs (it's a blend of all 3) and in general Relics games. But there's just something about it that doesn't hook me.

DONE IN PROGRESS
I had a backlog before, and then I got a PS3 for X-mas and my whole family got me games. My backlog is monster:

Ratchet and Clank: A crack in Time

God of War 2
God of War III (Pre-ordered for me for X-mas)
Killzone 2Now I'll give this game the time it deserves.
Little Big Planet (Only play with my GF. This will be ongoing)
Finished off Titan Quest and its expansion. I put about 10 hours in, but just wasn't having much fun. I got to a part where it looked like I was underleveled and really didn't want to work around it, so I'm putting it to bed. I'm not sure why I didn't like it as much as Torchlight, but it never pulled me in the same way.

Just a regular rewards zone thing. It's been like 8 months, but they send me one weekend only coupons that are somewhat decent. The $6K check for the wedding from her parents kinda killed my primary reason for saving money, too.

Finished Crisis Core. Man, that ending was fucking fantastic, I'm so hyped to start playing FFVII proper now. It's a monster of a game, so I'm not sure if I wanna get started immediately or not. Best thing is, the fan in my computer was having issues so I have more than enough time to work on my PSP backlog while it's at the repair shop.
Still unsure as to what I should finish next--might try to finish Disgaea's story real quick and then start FFVII, but I'm positively itching to play Riviera. Hmm.

Crisis Core is the only FF game I've played (outside of a bit of Dissidia) and I absolutely loved it. Pity I'm not into the FF battle systems though, I won't be able to enjoy the rest of them.
I'm playing Crisis Core right now since I got a PSP on the cheap. Is it common to just do side missions for hours at a time and have the regular missions take all of 15 minutes to complete?

That was my experience, yeah. Until you get near the end of the game, then the main missions start getting pretty long with multiple save points in them.
I'm getting myself into a bind with my backlog! I'm playing too many games. I'm going through Darksiders on PS3 and Batman AA on PC, but also Supreme Commander and Dawn of War 2 on PC. I'm getting nearly nowhere in any of them.

Made some good progress in Secret Of Monkey Island. 65% done, by the game reckoning. Progress is hindered by my tendency to sit on the loading screen listening to the awesome music. Also missing the obvious answers.
Going to go ahead and !FallOffTheWagon now. I put a pre-order down on Mass Effect 2. Which I'm ok with, since Mass Effect is the reason I bought my 360 in the first place.
Also, thread finally caught up. Been really busy lately.
This was sort of my new year's resolution, even before I came across this thread. I asked my wife to help by being the enforcer on this. She has stern looks standing by should I waver.
The goal is at the minimum to complete the single player campaign. There are a handful of games that I want to go farther with (harder difficulty playthroughs, getting more trophies, etc.) but I don't consider those a part of my backlog.
The sad part is my PS3 just died on me. So those will be on hold until I can scrape together the money to send it in to Sony.
Most of these games I've started but never finished. It is how I do. Spoilered for great length. And justice.

I seem to be progressing well. Over the last few days I've gotten in a lot of playtime, and I'm probably about halfway through Red Alert 3 now. I beat the first campaign and am about halfway through the second. If I can keep this up it should be done by next week. Then I think I might dig in for a long RPG.
Things completed!:
Left 4 Dead 2. Soooooooooo much better than Left 4 Dead 1. Fucking LOVED it so much it gets an official slot in my bonus goals section, meaning although I wont hold myself back from purchasing something new once the backlog is done, I am in no way done with Left 4 Dead 2 and it will still be played frequently.
GTA4: Ballad of Gay Tony. I loved it. Better than GTA4. It's everything I wanted GTA4 to be, and the ending is phenominal. I'll be popping it in to grab achievements here and there (I will get you, "Chain Reaction"), but it's not really a bonus goal because there's nothing specific Im really shooting for - just planning on mindlessly running around now and then and seeing if things happen by chance.
I've added "Endless Ocean" to the list of current in progress titles, because I moved the Wii into my bedroom and holy shit it is relaxing before bed. So just 20 minutes or so every couple nights will have this title done really soon. I'm pretty sure I'm in the final parts too. It's such a fantastic title to literally play over the course of a full year. It's really random to find a title that not only do you not feel compelled to make it to the end, but at the same time it sustains your interest for that long.
So what should I tackle next?
Lime means currently actively progressing through. Red now means complete!:
XBox360:
Unfinished:
NHL09 - The upgrade system really flustered me, so my goal here is to beat the playoffs undefeated to unlock whatever it was I wanted when I decided to do that, then take that upgrade and complete a season. The Darkness - Got it for free about 2 years ago in an Amazon deal. Started it, and it didn't grab me (because it was free with BioShock, and I wanted to play that), so I'll be giving it another shake. MLB2k9 - JUST bought it for $7 because a friend has it and I figured its a cheap way to catch up with him online playing something. Will remove when I feel I've gotten my fill. At $7, there's no real goal, so if I play a couple games with him that's $7 worth. Half Life 2: Ep 1 - When I got The Orange Box I beat Portal and put it away. I pulled it out later and tried Half Life, but never really got that into it. I feel like the critical accliam it's gotten means it deserves another go. Half Life 2: Ep 2 - See above. Virtua Tennis 3 - I have done everything except become #1 in the world rankings (in-game world, not XBL). I lost the match, stayed #2, and quit. I'd like to be #1! Pac Man CE - Never touched it. Came on a Arcade disc. Luxor 2 - Think I'm like 80% done with this. Viva Pinata TIP - What a crazy obsession I had with this game. I played it non stop forever. Getting all variants and wildcards and all sorts of crazy shit. I'd like to go back, with a clear, non-obsessive head, and just get all species. I've got to be pretty damn close. Beautiful Katmari - I can not beat the final stage. I've tried sporatically for years. I must do this. Tomb Raider Anniversary - I got it because of nostalgia. I got exactly as far as I did when I played it with my dad on PSX (Greece) and quit. I should finally put this to rest. Fallout 3 DLC - I beat and loved Fallout. I bought all the DLC, but still haven't done any of it. I MAY - if this backlog thing takes - decide to just end my good dude's quest, and start a fresh, evil quest, doing the DLC along that journey. Worms 2: Armeggedon - Man I hate playing this single player. But I should. Left 4 Dead 2 - All campaigns complete! Moved the game to my bonus goals. Overlord - This will be a rough one. I got about 75% done, and quit. Its now been about 8 months. Everytime I put it in I have no idea how to play or what to do. And get slaughtered. I either need to man up and restart, or read a walkthrough up to where I'm at so I can remember what I'm supposed to be doing. Dead Space - Got it Black Friday and love it, I just wasn't in the mood to be scared shitless over the holidays. I'm on Chapter 4, and this one will be completed sooner rather than later. Penny Arcade Episode 2 - Loved the first, and got to the part in the psych ward where I have to get past the secretary. I'll finish it, no problem. GTA4: The Ballad of Gay Tony - Complete! Awesome!
Still Working on - stuff I consider done, but I still have personal goals with them: Street Fighter 4 - Want to unlock all fighters and all colors Halo 3 - Ive beaten the game, but for some reason I dont have the achievements for The Road or that horrible Flood level. I'd kinda like them... Halo ODST - all firefights Peggle - all challenges. Only 4 left! Thank god Peggle Nights is technically DLC, and I can get it and not fall off the wagon! But I'll be waiting until I complete all challenges to get it. Resident Evil 5 - Beat on Veteran 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand - Beat on Hard. I loved this game. X-Men Origins Wolverine - Beat on Hard. About 60% through this. Burnout Paradise - Get my Burnout Licence. I may actually move this up to the actual backlog. After getting my "A" license I figured I was done, but I guess that's not REALLY the end... Web of Shadows - All Spider Icons. Only like 700 left. Shadow Complex - Minimalist. Just 100% last week, so it will be awhile. Left 4 Dead 2 - Get the gnome achievement. Win 15 scavange matches.
Wii:
Unfinished:
Madworld - Played it once for 10 minutes. Its cool. I may get to it soon. Godfather: Blackhand Edition - It was like the 3rd game I ever bought for the Wii. I played for like 5 hours and just did not like it. I'm willing to give it a second chance, I guess... Endless Ocean - Oh god I love this game. I have to be so close to the end, because I play it like 10 minutes at a time, forever, but man I love it. Will be the first to cross off the Wii list, I promise. World of Goo- Maybe 2/3 done? Its relaxing. I'm in no rush to finish it. de Blob - 1/4 complete. Its very fun. Actually typing this makes me want to put it back in.
DS:
Unfinished:
Apollo Justice - 3/4 done. Just haven't had much time for the DS lately. The World Ends With You - I've never played any sort of RPG like this. Ive played it once, and it was intense. I use my DS for random trips, and down time, so something this involved was new to me. It requires the same attention a console game does. I haven't picked it up since, but I liked it a lot, and am adding it to the backlog to force myself to give it the attention that I think it deserves. Scribblenauts - Love it. Bought it at the launch party in NYC. Will complete it at a nice pace.
Still Working on - stuff I consider done, but I still have personal goals with them: The Rub Rabbits - I want to beat the side story you get after beating the main game. Ninja Gaiden DS - It's not done, but it's not actually part of the backlog because I'm bored of it. It's fun for what it is, but its so monotonous. I want to beat it, but it will take an extended trip somewhere to do it, and I don't want to force myself to beat something I don't like, simply to allow myself to get something I'll enjoy, so it goes here.
So my totals:

Finished Bayonetta. Lots of replay value, but I'll save it for later. Hard, but not ass-kickingly hard like DMC. The ridiculous factor is definitely up to 11 on that one. This means I have nothing left to play on my main TV. So out of the following list, what PS3, XBox, or Wii game should I hit next?

I've finally finished Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee. The one thing that it and The Lost Vikings have taught me is that platformers really aren't my cup of tea. I'll definitely finish Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, but I'm now extremely glad I didn't buy Braid for $2.50 or Trine for $5.00.
There are some (bad) action elements to it but most of them can be avoided with a shield in the proper place

I did finish a few games, and some Goozex trades went down, both sending and receiving, so it's also time for an

I edited my post in the old thread, and my numbers are 3/41.
My wife is also planning on buying me Mass Effect 2 because she wanted to get me a game for Christmas and I asked her if she would be willing to delay a month since I wanted that game. Again, I don't know if that's going to count against me.
On the bright side, I don't think any of the purchases were made in 2010, so for this year, so far I'm clean.

Did some updating. I added a few downloaded games that I didn't add before.
Also got a gift card from someone and used it to grab TMNT Smash up, and also found a used copy of Viewtiful Joe 2, and I hadn't ever played it before.
I also fell off the wagon to buy Shadow Complex when it was the deal of the week. I beat it already though, so it's already limed as done.

??
I have gift cards, so I can indulge. Is it in the GamerZone thing?

Sonic and the Secret Rings is finished, moving onto something I won't hate. Something preferably not on Wii, because the last boss in Sonic was me furiously shaking the wiimote for more or less a solid 3 minutes.
Just a regular rewards zone thing. It's been like 8 months, but they send me one weekend only coupons that are somewhat decent. The $6K check for the wedding from her parents kinda killed my primary reason for saving money, too.
So, uhh.... saving up for 10 days in St. Lucia?
Bah, I haven't received that coupon.

I wish there were more unlockables and stuff to do, and 2000 something collectable icons is just too much to try and complete, but on the whole the game was great and the combat / exploration were dead on for what I want out of a spidey game.

Hmm.
Star Wars Force Unleashed, ultimate sith edition.
Pixeljunk Monsters Encore--All rainbows, alll trophies, encore included
Almost finished with God of War and expect to clear tonight.
I'm getting myself into a bind with my backlog! I'm playing too many games. I'm going through Darksiders on PS3 and Batman AA on PC, but also Supreme Commander and Dawn of War 2 on PC. I'm getting nearly nowhere in any of them.
I was stuck trying to find the Sword Master until
Finished off Batman Arkham Asylum with all the riddles completed.

That list is terrifying. Not just the length, but the shear amount of classics I haven't played yet or never finished...
Beat Infamous on the good campaign. I'll do an evil campaign sometime, and probably get most of the rest of the achievements. Wonderful game.
Awesome!
Still Working on - stuff I consider done, but I still have personal goals with them:
Street Fighter 4 - Want to unlock all fighters and all colors
Halo 3 - Ive beaten the game, but for some reason I dont have the achievements for The Road or that horrible Flood level. I'd kinda like them...
Halo ODST - all firefights
Peggle - all challenges. Only 4 left! Thank god Peggle Nights is technically DLC, and I can get it and not fall off the wagon! But I'll be waiting until I complete all challenges to get it.
Resident Evil 5 - Beat on Veteran
50 Cent: Blood on the Sand - Beat on Hard.
Still Working on - stuff I consider done, but I still have personal goals with them:
The Rub Rabbits - I want to beat the side story you get after beating the main game.
BACKLOG: 2/26
BONUS GOALS OF FUN: 0/13
