Talking about class builds and squadmate combos usually are safer and saner for your brains than discussing the viability of hairless mandibles.
Mechanics discussions are super boring, though. I don't know how people entertain themselves with them for so long.
Depends I guess. Some people like making deep, long threads about character arcs and motivation. Some people like maths. Some people like discussing the technology.
I don't even see why there's 15 threads on ME2... the game was pretty brief overall; I enjoyed it, but I'm surprised it's out-discussing Bioshock 2 and so many other great games coming out.
So. For all you cheaters out there, someone discovered a way to get infinite squad points.
a while back a good individual named moonstryder found a great way to max out all your stats so you could have all 7 skills to the max. I did it with my vanguard but it would probably work better with a sentinel or an adept. here is how you do the "Glitch?"Haven't seen a thread on this, so I'd thought I'd share something I found out to get infinite skill points (x360)
Requirements: able to learn Dominate, Advanced Training, Retrain Powers and 7500 Element Zero per extra skill point(s).
Steps
1. Buy Advanced Training and pick the Dominate skill. (All points you have in your bonus spec will be saved)
2. After you lean the skill, check your abilites and you will notice a BONUS skill point will be speced into it.
3. Use Retrain powers and you will have an extra skill point added to spend
4. Rinse and Repeat
:-)
of course you need as casedawgz put it "an assload of eezo. well it does take a lot. 150000, to be exact. i have the strategy guide so i thought i'd be nice and put all the planets that have eezo on this for you guys so you can max out your stats. it actually doesn't take that long to scan for it all if your on a ng+ with the 50k eezo bonus. i was able to max out my vanguard in about 2 hours. i encourage you to use the tapping method while scanning. holding LT would just be crazy. Also a good strategy I have found with scanning is to hold the controller like a gun with your right hand and tap LT with your right index finger and when you find the eezo spot, use your thumb to drop the probe. i've found i'm able to scan quicker and have less pain by scanning this way.
well here ya go. here's the plannets with the eezo:

I hate neglecting the thread on it. Suffering from some burnout on that game though. ME2 I played through five times almost back-to-back (took a break to play Bioshock 2 and the multiplayer). This game just has magic replayability I cannot put my finger on.

Yeah, ME2 is just that game you can always replay - it helps that each class feels so different from one another.
And it's always fun in your 2nd or 3rd playthrough to play a completely different personality from yours.

The weird thing is I felt that way when playing, but the ending of the game just ruined it for me. I've gone into detail before, but the choices at the end not exactly being what they seem and some characters speaking two different opinions simoultaneously really left a bad taste in my mouth after finishing.
I really do want to do another playthough where I romance Miranda and one where I'm the total Renegade asshole. I just don't have enough desire at the moment. That and all the other games demanding my attention.

I'm sort of with Dunxco, but I figure the replayability is that I keep feeling like I can go back through with slightly different decisions, like, "This time Shepard's adventure will be <adjective>." You really make 4 plot choices in Bioshock 2 (What to do with little sisters, what to do with the 3 big NPCs), in ME2, you just keep making choices. Choice city.
I'm currently playing through without using charm/intimidate, and it seems like I have to solve a lot more problems with the gun.

Choice city, really? You make little decisions here & there, I'm sure, and some people like you, don't like you, some survive, and some die. All in all, if ME3 played it out like ME2 did with importing from ME1, it'll be slightly cosmetic changes. Since you can potentially 'kill' all the characters from your current game, I doubt any will actually come back to the 2nd one, other than replaceable cameos like Wrex.
So although you are given many choices, they all end in the same result--the ending of the game is still the same ending of the game.
I'd like to play through a 2nd time, but other than being a dick to where I was a nice guy before, none of the options really seem to 'pop' to me.

I had four Shepard's from ME1 (Paragon: Vanguard, Soldier. Renegade: Infiltrator, Sentinel) that I wanted to run through as seperate continuities. I turned the Sentinel Paragon and the Soldier Renegade to mix things up. Then I did my Engineer Insanity with my 58 Vanguard as the "base" character.
I want more ME2, but I just don't have it in me to go through again just yet without a significant change like new DLC.

Having read the last few pages of the last thread, I have made it my life long goal to hunt Scarab to the ends of the earth. Pancake can get away with it because I expect this sort of thing from her.
How is it that the one time I'm away from the thread this is what happens? I can't leave you people alone for a second.

Well your choices aren't like "Choose your own Adventure" books, which are short and head in wildly variant directions, but Shepard is the hero you choose. You get to decide how the hero acts and reacts to most everything in the game.

That is very fucking cool, in my book.
I forget to "role play" and just pick the choices I would easily choose.
Looking back on ME2. Did anyone else feel it was short?
Not really. Especially compared to the parts of ME 1 that were actually fun.

holy bastard crap the teammate AI in this game is dumb.
Yes Jacob, it's a fantastic idea for you to run off into the sunset and fight half a dozen blue suns including two heavies on your own. No, I'm sure it won't matter that they all have shields and you have no means of dealing with shields. Don't mind me, I'm just regenerating my health, no need to wait. I'm sure your suicide run will work, element of surprise and all that.

Yes, please - that just slowly makes red stuff come out of my nose instead of hemorrhaging my brain.

Yes. All of my playthroughs have only taken 25-26 hours. I wish BioWare would stop making such short games that are so light on content.
