    Avant Garde is basically my favourite sans copy font

    yes, even better than Helvetica

    The font itself is fine it is just the current application of it that doesn't sit well with me

    And fonts are NEVER personal taste. NEVER

    I specifically picked a super plain font. As plain as I could get it while still having nice shape.

    If your logo is type based, go crazy with the font. If it's icon based, keep the font simple.

    So apparently at the museum tonight Chip Kidd was giving a talk with some other dude

    I work at this museum. I worked TONIGHT. So instead of hearing the lecture from the awesome awesome Kidd I was tucked away in the nethers of the European gallery
