CBC is the fucking worst. Great first period, Chicago is playing really well but all these fucking plugs can talk about is oh Chicago can't play without Keith oh look at all these breakdowns (ignore the score and the shot totals of course.)
I really hope CBC loses hnic and this taxpayer sinkhole can vanish in to the ether.

I think Boston's D can give Chicago a challenge. Chicago's offense is probably more smooth and silky, except those guys(and by guys I mean Toews and Kane, Hossa is a point machine) are kind of inconsistent from game to game and it's been the tough grind-y Bickells and Shaws who have been steady in their game.
With the way the Pens have been playing defense Chicago would have shredded them offensively.
Shero almost makes it sound like the plan is to keep Fleury for the regular season to make sure they make the playoffs and then... well, Vokoun played really well don't you think?

well the options are buying him out, playing him or burying him in the minors.
you can't bury contracts anymore so that's out. there won't be any trade partners, and they don't have any real option besides fleury and vokoun so you can't just buy him out without a suitable replacement and vokoun is turning 37 i believe?
they could buy him out and trade for a goalie. bob is apparently demanding ridiculous sums, maybe they trade for his rights and pay him.
however, an overturned garbage can could probably carry the penguins through the regular season and in to the playoffs.
Fleury is one of the faces of the franchise, him and Orpik are the last guys left from the dark ages between Jagr and the lockout. When he's good he's fine and the fans love him, but when he or the team are off, he's an easy guy to go after given how long he's been here. As long as he can get us to the playoffs (although I agree on the garbage can), he's going to have a place here. At this point I assume that even in a few years when Fleury is getting old and Vok is gone/retired, he'll still be around, even if it's just as a backup to a new young starter.
Neal is locked up for the next 3 or 4 years, he isn't going anywhere.

letang is going to be commanding at the very minimum 6+ and you have a much cheaper, though not as good right at this very moment, version of neal in bennett.
30% of your cap is going to two players. you only have 1 defenseman signed past this year.
neal has a sweet deal that would attract a huge amount of interest. letang, despite being chaos on the defensive side of things, letang brings a skillset that is a lot harder to acquire than neal's.
With the glut of young defensemen in the minors, I wouldn't be surprised to see Shero trade him ... do I think it's the right call? No, but we have literally no one in the minors as far as forwards are concerned, so there's no way they move Neal.
Letang. Neal plays too well with Malkin to give up, and we have no great forwards waiting down in the AHL. We have tons of "little Letangs" though. Despres could've been a starter this year, and he'll fill that void well. We could also trade Letang for a ton.

I was the only person in the office until about 10:30am.
