    It happens a lot.

Yeah, there's actually a genre for these kind of shit movies. Most take advantage of a generic concept or IPs existing in the public domain.

Blockbuster Sherlock Holmes movie coming out? Coincidentally, a movie entitled 'Sherlock Holmes' is released on DvD the opening weekend.

And then there was "Almighty Thor"
And some rip-off of Transformers which was something like Changeformers

That's basically Asylum's bread and butter right there.

I keep hearing their Abe Lincoln movie isn't too bad compared to their usual standards so I might Red Box it. Hell, I might be more entertained by it than Vampire Hunter.

I am actually more excited for La Luna than I am for Brave. Similarly, I am more pumped for Paperman than for Wreck-It Ralph.

Still Brave looks good, and I'm having a surprisingly hard time convincing people to see it with me.

We have a copy of that at my local B&N and I always wonder if it's worth the $5 just to say I own it.

My guess is in the Witch's hut among the wood carvings.

There was definitely some sort of van thing, though I am unfamiliar with the actual truck, my guess is that it was what you were looking for.
    PIZZA PLANET TRUCK LOCATION SPOILERS:
Witch's hut, in a shot of the witch talking (facing camera), there is a cluttered table in front of her, look to the bottom of the screen (maybe slightly to your left)

La Luna was also spectacular. Best short I've seen Pixar do.

Brave itself was maybe a teensy bit predictable, maybe even formulaic, but it's just so God damned sincere and well acted, like fucking every movie Pixar does. And the MUSIIIIIIC HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT.

    It was sooooooooo excellent.

Preposterous. It contained exactly the necessary amount of information presented in exactly the correct amount of time.

nah, the entire beginning could've been cut easily with no loss in clarity

I expect pixar shorts to end right about the time when the big star landed, so I was already disengaging at that point

like seriously all that anchor dickery shit? Completely unnecessary character development that was already done again on the moon, and funnier besides

short should be rowing out into the bay, moon rises, they take out the anchor, it floats up

would've been better narratively too because it would've been a swerve

    Rent on

That is nonsense. The boat was all about introducing the moon, and it did it in a completely awesome way.

    So

This movie is really, really hard for me to think about objectively.

Like... the main character in this movie looks EXACTLY like - and has the same mannerisms and personality of - one of my really good friends. Same hair, same face, same body, expressions... it is fucking uncanny.

We used to be in a relationship together a couple years back.

Watching this movie was half, "Oh shit, Amber, be careful! D=" and half "heh, I totally know what Merida is like in bed." It was really confusing and awesome.

could've been done in a shorter way, is my point

everything pre-on the moon was unnecessary for the progression of the story

compare La Luna to Day & Night aka the objective best Pixar short of all time

not a single moment in D & N was unecessary. Every beat was perfect and it never felt slow at any point.

The beginning of La Luna? Kind of dull, frankly

What does your heart tell you, Rent?

Does it tell you to bang the adolescent CGI heroine of a movie film about coming of age?

Because that will make you go to prison.

I was hoping Monsters Inc 2 would follow new characters since I think we got the best we could ask for from Mike and Sully.

I wanted to see a movie about the comedy monsters that work for them!

The Monster Inc thing at the Magic Kingdom is a bunch of fun, it's basically a really cool comedy routine where they include member of the audience and there's all kinds of puns and I love it.

I've seen a video on it from the Monster's Inc Bluray! I'd have loved it as a kid since I fancied myself a bit of a young comedian.
