Ohhhh Avengers went well it seems, my favorite quote is at the end
Alex Billington of firstshowing was quick out the gate with:

The Avengers – Epic. EPIC! Everyone fights everyone, but it does deliver. Marvel’s movies get better every single one. Hulk! HULK!!

Whereas Devin Faraci of Badass digest was slightly more reserved, but mostly positive:

That’ll do, Joss, that’ll do. Btw, avoid THE AVENGERS in 3D. Worthless. See it 2D.

While Jeremy Smith (aka Mr. Beaks) of Aint it Cool News pointed to the film’s faults, but suggested it ends well:

THE AVENGERS. Finally, a Marvel film with a rousing finish. I’ll deal with the first two acts in my review. And that third act is more than enough to make THE AVENGERS the best Marvel movie yet.

Germain Lussier of Slashfilm is also mostly positive:

I’d tweet about The Avengers but my body is still recovering from non-stop geeking out. So, so, so much fun (for the most part).

    Peter Sciretta of Slashfilm added:

The Avengers is pretty epic. There is probably more action in this film’s climax than all the other Marvel movie combines!

Movieline‘s Jen Yamato offered this saucy tweet:

Avengers was big, messy, fun. More importantly there’s now nothing but Hawkeye fanfic swimming around in my head

    Our Don Kaye said:

In a word, awesome. This is the AVENGERS movie you’ve dreamed of.

    Steve Weintraub of Collider added:

Absolutely loved THE AVENGERS. Was smiling from beginning to end. If you’re a Marvel fan you’re going to lose your shit in the theater.

Intermission at the Wheaton/Kurtz/Straub concert thing.

So far, so good! Though their banter is heavily scripted, and all of them are pretty terrible at making it seem at all natural.

I kind of assume all internet critics are either shills or idiots unless I am familiar with them and respect their views. And since I don't really follow any internet film critics ...

I dunno. Exclusive previews for internet dudes are pretty much part of the hype machine. Have they ever universally derided a blockbuster film they were invited to see early?

What is this? Like a geek panel or something? What's the topic, or is it just a MEET THESE GUYS kind of thing?

I'm going to watch Avengers with my mind set on positive. No real expections, but it does have some promising stuff in the trailers.

I have so far evaded all Avengers trailers not attached to the end of a WW2 movie with Tommy Lee Jones in it.

Judging by the current streak of Marvel Films, I expect its strength to be in good characters.

Well it was the premiere in LA there are other quotes out there but those were the ones I seen lumped together.

You know who I loved in said WW2 movie? Stanly Tucci. Sure the other guys were good too, but for me he stole the show.

Oh my God the Mel Gibson letter is amazing. Granted, it's from Joe Esterhaz, and not first hand, but it's still amazing.

    Mel Gibson is demonstrably insane.

I guess you need to keep going down the list until you find a sniper rifle you aren't terrible with

eventually you'll get to the Valiant

no one is terrible with a Valiant

    three infiltrators here

lvl 18 with the widow, lvl 20 with the black widow, and me lvl 10 with the fucking viper.

Ditching the sniper rifle and going shotgun this time.

Although for shotguns I only have the katan and that blows.

I sometimes love the CA conference, just cos of the wide range of topics. So far this morning I have listened to papers on classics and contemporary women's writing, classics in nineteenth-century parochial schools, reception of the classics in nineteenth-century Prussian cadet-schools, and now body modification in ancient Rome.

With the Valiant, I play all my classes like a sniper with a power or two that I sometimes remember to use. I am pretty bad at ME3 but the Valiant is like easy mode.

Who are you to argue with Gears of War? This is the way things are done. This is the way things will be done.
