I am waiting for a GotY version of Dawgs. All that DLC looks good, but I hate buying a game this late and finding the DLC costs 3 times what I just paid for the game. It's weird, because if I pay full price for a game I'll buy DLC like it's no big deal.
there isn't a single thing about saints row 3 i like more than sleeping dogs, i don't think
i just don't think saints row the third was that amazing. it had cool and funny story missions and some decent gameplay? whatevs gonna play sleepy doggs forever
Saints Row and Sleeping Dogs have such different tones I feel it's kind of futile to try to compare them. They're both good games with different goals.

They're both over-the-top sandbox games, it seems more than fair to compare them
ESPECIALLY SINCE SLEEPING DOGS IS BETTER OWNED

Next Unprofessional Friday is just going to be Patrcik Stewart yealling "KEEP YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF ME" for two hours.
I started listening to the Bombcast from the start around November so I haven't heard any new ones since. I think I hit Feb 2010 but now I am way deep into the P4 run.
I got a long ass trip come June so I should be able to catch up then.
OK What the FUCK? I bought the US version of Scribblenaughts Unlimited from Amazon.com, since it was delayed here. I played it a bunch through Steam, with no issues.
Now, it says 'Preloaded' And I can't play it. Because it's not out here yet. A game I have already played for several hours.

But Sleeping Dogs missing huge chunks of story and character beats hurt it a lot for me, especially since I loved what story was there.
Oddly, the writing was one of my complaints with SR3. Not so much the in-mission stuff, there was some really great writing there, but the connecting tissue often felt weak. I can't really name specific examples without replaying the game, so I might do that at some point, but I remember not being surprised when stories came out about Volition moving writers from SR3 to Red Faction mid-production.

Going through that made me realize that Sleeping Dogs is my 2012 Game Of The Year.
Writing this made me realize that I forgot to add Mass Effect 3. Wouldn't have made my top 3 but...

Didn't meet the rules according to the noms thread.
They're pretty damn close now that I think about it
If Sleeping Dogs didn't have missing plot segments I would say yeah easily
He's right, though????

Yeah, it's like being a Log Cabin Republican.

But the setpieces and writing of Saints Row push it over the top
