Aw yeah. Ain't no party like a Square-Enix party, 'cause Square-Enix parties don't stop capitalizing on long-running and commercially proven intellectual property like the Final Fantasy series of games. That well known anthem will be proven May 12th and 13th when the Japanese publisher of beloved role-playing games (and the much maligned SaGa series) holds the Square-Enix Party 2007 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy.
On hand will be the bakers dozen of Final Fantasy games shown on the ad above (posted by German game site
GameFront), plus, we assume, other IP, some big announcements and unknown surprises. In the above ad that's running in newspapers, it says in Japanese: "And then, a Final Fantasy that nobody knows will appear." Does that mean yet another new
Final Fantasy will be announced? Or just that Square-Enix likes the vague hype? Got us.
There's plenty of time to book flights, but don't go holding your breath for that Vagrant Story II announcement. I have a sneaking suspicion you'll just be disappointed. Michael McWhertor

CUZ THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE MIDDLE AND IT'S GIVING ME A RASH
Why would Tactics Advance 2 be on the PSP? Sure, a sequel to TA could be on the PSP, but you'd think they'd drop the Nintendo-inspired "Advance" from the title.
Sony needs to make the PSP a more attractive purchase?
I'm completely serious.
Also, watch it be a look-behind-the-shoulder, ala FF9.
Besides the one already known?
And there's only one unannounced game... maybe they'll surprise us and it'll be for 360
Here's hoping.
Of course, it'll be Final Fantasy VII: Obscure Tertiary Character
Or are we talking about some shitty total? Ah whatever, sleep beckons me.
That's just.. insane...
There is, that's what Tactics A2 is. I dunno why Deusfaux has it listed as a PSP game.

3 of them are ports, 2 are for cell phones, ones an MMO that's been out for years, one is a hi def version of an already released movie, and 2 are sequels to side franchises.
If anything I'm just glad SE is doing something now, as opposed to that period in the PS2 era where it seems like they did Kingdom Hearts and that's it.

CUZ THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE MIDDLE AND IT'S GIVING ME A RASH
I've been working on a birthday celebration. I've been collaborating with Square-Enix and the webmasters of about thirty FF sites for one big celebratory fan-made website. It's going to be cool. Plug plug and all that.
XBL/PSN/Steam: APZonerunner
I've heard X is good, and XII is good.... but I just can't get myself to try either of them.
CUZ THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE MIDDLE AND IT'S GIVING ME A RASH
Can you imagine if Capcom published FF instead of Square? They'd have to create a spinoff to showcase any detectable difference between games whatsoever.

Buy IX. Skip X. Get XII.
IX = Most underrated FF ever. It fucking rules. One of the best, and so, so close to FF6.
XBL/PSN/Steam: APZonerunner
If you hated VIII back in the day, it's probably worth giving it a second chance now.
I'm not an FF fan by any stretch of the imagination; I've never beat any FF game. I played a lot of VI, but I never beat it myself because I watched my brother and friend play through it and finish it. I got caught up in the VII hype on release and got to the end, but by then the razzle dazzle had worn off and I had no real desire to level up my characters and finish it once and for all. I think the game gets a rather weak after you leave the city. I still bought VIII when it came out, and I was completely disgusted by it. I absolutely hated everything about it. But I gave it another shot a few months ago and it's really not that bad. If my attention span had held out, I'd probably have beaten it.
Anyway, that's all i have to say about that.
As long as it's nothing like VIII. I can't believe I made myself finish that game.
If you take the last battle with Kuja, also awesome. Necron kinda ruins the whole thing, but if you ignore that middle bit even the ending is awesome. I mean, wow; a 3D FF with closure and a happy, fairytale ending. I really liked that.
XBL/PSN/Steam: APZonerunner
IX has always, and probably always will be (I haven't played XII yet so I dunno) my favourite FF.
Then why haven't they made a Final Fantasy hentai game? I'm sure it would sell millions.
IX was just sooo awesome. It saddens me to know that I will probably never play it again. I actually remember being depressed after parts of the game for several days, namely Vivi's and Freya's storyline.
