Lol and they should be tied but @ben2998 hasn't officially voted.
Sorry! Me can't read well! :P
More seriously, I should have read the OP! Monorail for 2014!
It's all your fault!! JK
Since the fairy did win though I do feel the need to bring this up. I know it was just an example and the final will hopefully be different from the one we were voting on, but we definitely need to think of some way to identify mount rainier as mount rainier. Like I said previously the reason I didn't vote for the mount Rainier option was because it was bland and could have been 10+ locations in southern California and probably hundreds more in the rest of the US, and didn't speak Washington or Seattle to me.
I'm honestly not sure exactly how we could ID it, but the first two things that come to mind would be putting the name of the ferry on it like they do other boats or doing what political cartoonists do and put mount Rainier on the edge or as a peak or actually using the full image originally posted. These are just three ideas but again if we're going to use anything like the voted on cropped image I seriously think we need to do something to ID it as the voted on image is just WAY to generic and bland to be the identifying side of the coin. In my opinion at least.
I've been thinking something showing a ferry and Mount Rainier would be cool - something like this:
But maybe without the city skyline, since we've already done that
See I was thinking something more along these lines for the ferry. If we have the skyline added it will help make it Seattle. I voted for be ferry because as someone from out of town the ferries are more know to me as a landmark over the monorail. Just my view. However I think @Dreamwriter had a cool idea for the ferry with this pic.

Agreed. The ferry with just the mountain doesn't really tie it to Seattle at all.
This pic makes it clear it's Seattle you're looking at.

Actually take that back next year would be the 10th anniversary.
I agree, but thinking about it I don't think we would want to use the term anniversary, this year or next. I think it makes more sense to say "10th annual Pax Prime". Which would be this year.
An anniversary would be more for a one time event, such as a wedding or the founding of a company.

Just curious how is this the 10th PAX without being the 10th anniversary of PAX? Know that's right but that just seems wrong somehow.
That aside I do think something like your "10th annual PAX" or "10th PAX Prime" could work. The only reason I could possibly think of that might want to make us hesitate is if we're gonna want to do something for the 10th anniversary next year. It might be a little confusing to have something related to the 10th on two coins. I'm sure we could come up with something though and tbh if we do go with "10th annual PAX" I think it might be cool to follow that pattern and next year go "11th annual" and so forth. Which would obviously void that possibility

Think about the very first Pax. It happened in 2004. The next Pax in 2005 was the 1st anniversary of Pax, but it was the second annual Pax. That's why 2013 will be the 10th annual Pax, but the 9th anniversary.
I think we should not use anniversary at all since that term is usually reserved for celebrating a one time event, such as a wedding or the founding of a company. I think we should stick to the term "X annual Pax" since it is an event that is ongoing, like the 85th annual academy awards.
I'm sorry to dredge up old news, but does the d6 bother anyone else? I feel like the coin would "read" as PAX '42, instead of PAX '13. I don't think the 13 on the d20 is very obvious/explicit, and it has been bothering me for some time.

Here is a mock up from PCC, this is actually the second mock up, but the first one was too far off to post.
And here is the original file from PCC: PDF File
The file is locked so you can only open it in a SDF viewer.
Here are my critiques:
Front:
1. The perspective of the Hex background is off. This is the second mock up I have recieed and both times the back ground was not right. I think he may not be able to reproduce the look I gave him (I have even given him the psd file). We may have to go back to the flat Hex background like in Meeple V06.
2. The dice & meeple are too close to touching the wording on the outside ring. The meeple & dice need to be a little smaller.
Back:
1. The 3D elements look good, but the outer ring needs to be brought back.
What are your thoughts?

it looks like they are trying to make the hex grid into a sphere shaped perspective. what if it was made to look more like a board in the background, even having the far edge of it in view?

Definitely gonna be cool how we identify the ferry and mountain one if it does win
Since we are on a new page and not everyone reads the OP, here is the voting link again, only an hour an a half left.
Edit: Ferry and Mt Rainier have won.

Ferry V02:
I love that! My vote is a hell yea!
Hell yea seconded!
Although do we need to worry about copyright for that pic from anywhere?

I assume we want this in 3D correct?
What about the front side, do we want that in 3D or 2D?
Also, do we want to add anything to the back to represent Pax prime going to 4 days for the first time, or celebrate the 10 year anniversary?
I like the idea of having something on there for the 10th anniversary .

This will be the 10th pax, but its only been 9 years.
Is this the 10th anniversary or is next year?

10th PAX Prime, yes, but 15th PAX overall. :P
Anyway, I really like the Ferry/Seattle/Rainier v02 layout. Adding some depth to it would be great.
