[PATV] Monday, August 12, 2013 - CheckPoint Season 3, Ep. 9: Same Sexy Sims
But I really want to know how different the pricing is. For example, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified costs $72 AUD ($66.26 US) on Steam, but how much does it actually cost in your nation?
Pricing here is bad, yes, and having to wait for a year or more to get a game at $60 is annoying. What's worse though, is that we're still getting neutered games.
Gifting games from other countries would get us the full version of Left4Dead 2 or Saints Row IV for example, instead of what we get here.
Personally, I'd be just as happy to send money to someone overseas for them to gift me a copy of a game I want to get around restrictions like that (and get it cheaper to boot). Too bad you can't trust people on the internet.
I'm an Aussie, and I just don't buy games because I simply can't afford them. But I wouldn't feel right asking others to spend their money on me; I'll keep bootlegging too until something is done about the issue. :{P
It looks like Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is not available yet (I see a release date of August 28 for it), but that doesn't mean that we can't gift a different game instead.
I'll trade a wheat and a sheep for the first two treasures.
I am an Aussie... I don't really play many games apart from point and click adventures and actual suspenseful horror games. Because the market is flooded with NOT these... I tend to wait in the shadows until one comes out and then obsess. If someone however can surprise me... My name on Steam is Angelic_Incubi. Feel free to attempt to blow my mind hole with an amazing game.
Aussie here, anyone got US PSN cards? Odin Sphere is only available on PSN through US accounts, which we can make, but can only use US PSN cards or US credit cards on it... yeah... makes LOADS of sense...
Aussie Here! I live in Perth, Western Australia. I'm a UNI student, so I don't have a ton of money at all for games, and a game on Steam would be more than amazing. My Steam name is 'Gorganzola Cheese and Champagne'. Thanks Checkpoint!
Kathleen the audio still sounds muffled. The boom definitely sounds better. How about getting a metal or plastic large-tripod-like stand that clamps on to the boom and holds it? I'll contribute a few bucks and I'm sure enough other folks would too.
Simply have too much money and not enough Australian friends? Let me help, I'm a poor student living in Melbourne with a handy steam wishlist that you can peruse. - http://steamcommunity.com/id/FedoraPirate/wishlist/
Seriously though, if you want to give someone a game I'd be very grateful but don't need it. Cheers to all involved in this fantastic holiday.
I am from NZ and as such I feel a bit stink for putting my name out there as a person who would like a free game. Being a poor student however, I will take whatever anyone wants to give me =p
As an Aussie I have to say I'm probably going to pirate Saints Row IV until I can afford to import an unrestricted copy. Stupid 'Low Violence' version. What's the point of playing SR4 if you can't be completely insane about it. http://steamcommunity.com/id/TheWolf1989/
Im not one to beg to strangers but......
With saints row IV restricted and a itch named payday 2.....
Problem is Im unwilling to pirate http://steamcommunity.com/id/scotty7229
Anyone feeling the need to Gift A Game to an Aussie? Then look no further!
steamcommunity.com/id/dogday
As an Australian, all I want is to play good games, in an unrestricted ratings system, at a reasonable price. There is no reason (other than greed) why a digital download should cost the same as a physical copy. It is a complete shamozzle.
And yes, I have many games, but that is because I don't pirate, and support the industry when I can afford to (which is getting less and less frequent).
Anyway, international love and trade negotiations ahoy!
Weird how the possibility of receiving free games absolutely deviated everyone's attention from Kathleen's cleveage. Nice going, Checkpoint! You made the internet not care about boobs (something believed impossible up until now)
Hi guys. I'm from Melbourne, Australia and can attest to the fact that Steam, iTunes and the like are all screwing our nation.
Anyway, if you felt like gifting a game, my steam account username is "StoneWorks". Please ensure the gifted game is on the cheaper side of the spectrum. Also, please leave a comment or post to my steam account to let me know so I can personally thank you.
If no one gifts, I'll assume the world has better things to do than randomly allocate funds to someone.
Ladies and gentlemen. "Gift a game to an Aussie day" is official. Mpureka gifted me "Strike Suit Zero". I've never heard of it... But I look forward to playing it.
A few months back, during one of EB's many 'big sales' thought I'd finally snag Skyrim or one of the other big name titles I'd been holding out on for years, waiting til prices lowered to a reasonable level. Seems someone forgot to pass on the message that 'decent price' doesn't mean You only charge them an arm OR a leg, instead of both.
If anyone's interested to throw a game at one of the many Aussie Uni Students (Anyone else here go to ECU Mt Lawley?) here's my Steam.
I'm here to help you guys celebrate this new and wonderful 'help out an Aussie-day'. As you may have figured, I'm Australian and as such, I can barely afford to put food on the table thanks to the fact that Steam, iTunes and others are buggering us up the bum so hard you'd think they think we are Greek. Preposterous! We're humble Aussies and we don't condone that kind of behaviour!*
So what I'm trying to convey is that me and my seven kids** (who are sooooo, so hungry) would clearly benefit from your kind Steam donations. Feel free to forward a healthy dose of RPG's (or whatever you feel like really) to steam account Joos2000 (screen name Joos with a silly pumpkin hat man as an avatar).
*unless of course you are the kind of person who like being buggered up the bum of course; I'd hate to come across as discriminating against buggerers
** I actually don't have seven kids to feed. That was just added for dramatic effect. However, my hypothetical kids will still be very, very, VERY grateful for your kind donations.
So this was the video that finally made me sign up.
I'd like to participate in this newly established tradition by gifting to some aussies / kiwis who are looking for a game I have an extra copy of / can get cheaply.
Being from Europe, I know what it feels like to be screwed by "interesting" pricing policies that have no regard to relative income levels, the cost of distribution, or indeed common sense.
So please, post LINKS to your steam profiles (or better yet, wishlists) and I'll check if I can send you something. You can grab this link when looking at your profile page in a browser or inside steam (if you have ticked the "Display Steam URL address bar when available" in your interface settings).
Please don't just post your screen name or profile name, as these are often not enough to positively identify someone and I don't have the patience to google around.
Well fair dinkum mates, I'm in Perth studying at UWA so I'll throw out a line and see if I get any bites.
My Steam account is http://steamcommunity.com/id/lizardon28/ or my email is lizardon28@gmail.com if you don't want to bother with friending me. It's pretty late here right now so it'll probably take me awhile to respond.
I can't think of any games I want in particular, asides from Saints Row IV, so how about your favourite cheap indie title?
Hopefully this gets enough support that soon "Gift an Aussie a Game Day" will be a public holiday.
EDIT: Well that was fast. GSC just gave me Amnesia. So as much as I'd love to continue getting free games, anyone looking for an Aussie should pick someone else.

Really like the look of spelunky, but anything would be swell. be it a game you think I should try, or just the game that has the biggest price gap between US and AUS just to stick it to the man.
Either way, godspeed my friends across the oceans.

My Steam name is middlerun, if anyone feels like gifting me a copy of Ittle Dew or The Swapper, that would be most bonzer.

This is me, by the way: http://steamcommunity.com/id/sjvan0/
Have you played Fallout 3?
Someone get me that! (Please, Nobody get me that!)
This would be me http://steamcommunity.com/id/DellikSaw and I will play pretty much anything eventually.
