So just been powering though a bunch of Arrow episodes over the weekend.. yup... it's pretty good. Although every time the show an exterior shot of the mansion I keep thinking of:

Got Man of Steel on Blu-ray

My opinion of it actually went up, especially when I realized when watching it this time that the amount of destruction caused in the Zod fight is actually pretty negligible?

Most of that Metropolis destruction comes from the world engine, and they're mostly flying around and fighting through buildings that look like they've already gotten some gravity-crushing

I can agree with people on the tone of the drone scene on a second viewing though, yeah, that should have been handled more elegantly

Finally received the last few issues of the 1986 (?) Squadron Supreme mini-series. At last, my collection is complete. Mwah hah hah!!!

Now on to replacing all my lost copies of DC's Who's Who and Marvel's Marvel Universe series. And then GI Joe. Truly a Real American Hero.

My brother cheated me out of those issues, and in the interests of familial peace, I haven't brought it up.

EDIT: Then I want to get the entire Blue Devil series.

So it looks like Incredible Hercules leads into the Chaos War event. Is that worth picking up? What about the tie-ins? (Incredible Hulks, X-men and Avengers.)

Chaos War is pretty good, and it's kind of essential for Hercules.

The X-Men and Avengers tie-ins are terrible avoid them.

Hulks is good but I'm not sure you should read them in isolation of the rest of Pak's Hulk run. Like if you ever decide to read his Hulk you shouldn't skip over the Chaos War bit, but I don't think you need to read them if you're just reading Chaos War.

Aww shit I forgot to pick up Transformers RID Volume 5 while I was in the city. Going to have to go back there sometime to get it.

At least I bought the Immortal Iron Fist Collection; although I'll have to wait til Christmas to read it. :/

One Arrow complaint that is just me being picky than than anything (costume wise)
Deathstroke (only seen him on the island thus far) mask is more yellow than Orange. Seems weird its like a bright yellow than anything. Does he ever switch to the dark orange or is this just something I have to accept? Unless of course Island Deathstroke is actually Ravager and Wilson dons the true Orange mask.

Not knowing who that is I went to Wikipedia. The Identity Crisis part of her history sounds pretty awful.

The 3.99 books each have codes I sell for 1.75 so it comes out to like 55ish bucks which ain't too bad for a monthly cost of something I really enjoy.

Oh no, not at all, I spend that or more on games every month

I just think of comics as these cheap things and so seeing them grouped together and amassing that large of a total struck me

Yeah, the last time I was big into comics, my pull list started to look like that. It was during the Infinite Crisis/52 stuff, where I had to grab every new book, tie-in, etc. Plus a new issue of 52 every week. It got out of hand and I had to just cancel everything. One reason why I'm holding firm to just two X-Men books, although I might grab the #1 issues for some of the new stuff, just to give it a shot.

Speaking of comics, what happened with Avengers AI

Everyone went nuts for it in the preview buildup but now we're up to issue 7 and not a peep from anyone?

It would help if any other book referenced it

From the previous thread about UXF, but it also applies to Avengers AI.

I kind of felt like Avengers AI was treading the same ground that Remender's Secret Avengers run had done a year or two ago.

I know there are a lot of differences but the core concepts were so similar that it took out any sense of originality to me.

And Remender's stuff was waaaaaaaaaaay better.
