Decided to do another run through BL2 with Krieg, because I wanted to try a no-gear run.
Well, they've definitely raised the drop rates, because I've gotten 6 fucking legendaries when I ran through Normal (all either character drops or world drops), and 1 from the red chest behind Flynt in TVHM. Good lord.
Don't worry though, my streak of getting jackshit from BNK-3R is still intact though. Woo!
Yeah, I've gotten two Bonus Packages dropping from vanilla Torks while working on point blank shotgun kills. Pretty nice, actually.
I'm well on my way with TPS challenges. I'm up to 18/20 Luneshine weapons, and I ticked off the level 5 Collateral Damage last night, at which point Missile Magnet unlocked and I immediately got level 3. Nice that it's retroactive. So I just need to grind out two more Luneshines and make a bunch more close quarters shotgun kills.
Then all I'll have left is to convince one of you to jump on with me to do a trade and let me win a duel.

EDIT: Wooo, thanks @ShimShai! Now just 2 Luneshines and 150 shotgun kills to go!
EDIT: Wooo Luneshines get!
EDIT: Yeah, I felt bad for popping the notifications for whoever has them on. But I had to Alt-F4 out when a grind came back less than fully shiny. Fortunately, that nonsense is over.

Well, the streak is over. For the first time since I started playing BL2 when it launched, I finally got an Orange from BNK3R, and it was a Sham.
Kind of fitting, since that also describes my experience with it's drop rate.
Decided to dust off the 360 to pick up Pre Sequel. What are the recommended early skills for Athena to focus on? Wish I had more shock weapons available.
BTW, BL2 bosses are dropping their legendary weapons.

Eh, in BL2 at least they had really good DPS when you threw full magazine reloads at enemies. Not very ammo efficient, but if you were firing at some mook normally and them a bigger guy showed up, doing that was faster than switching to a shotty.
And I really liked the fact that they actually had sights that weren't complete and utter shit and were, in fact, actually usable, which is better than the other brands can say.
1. Whenever I have one I'm constantly wasting ammo because I can't not reload after an encounter.
2. I blow myself up entirely too often when, if I actually remembered not to reload, I try to grab stuff from a chest but misclick a tiny bit and blow myself up because Tediores are garbage.
I freely admit that this is a console limitation where pick up and reload are bound to the same button, but it still pisses me off.
I vaguely remember some particular gun type with a clip size of about half of my total stock, and being disappointed to find out that there's no Tediore version of it.

I forget, is there a quickdrop button on console? You can use that to reload your Tediores without wasting ammo.

iirc, you aren't completely wasting the ammo, doesn't the higher ammo = high damage?
No no no, I'm wasting the ammo because all of the enemies are dead and I compulsively have to reload or I am trying to pick up money and press square to do that which is also reload and I was off by a pixel so I throw the stupid gun and it blows up in my face.
Aren't the Tediore's explosions affected by grenade damage mods? I think Axton and Salvador help in that regard.
Tediore's plasmas are pretty good.
I like them more than Dahl. Do the latter's sniper and elemental assault rifles finally shine in TPS?
nope dahl is still fairly bad
tediore weapons are good for reload spamming but that's thing tho
that's all they're good at
tediores are only useful in the absence of other, better guns
Dahl is better than Tediore. They're not going to give you the most power, but lack of recoil/sustained accuracy is still pretty good. The only thing that irritates me about them is the auto-burst fire when scoped. At least Vladof lets you feather the trigger.
Edit: Torgue is the one that gets the grenade bonuses, since they don't technically shoot bullets.
1) I adore Dahl pistols and sniper rifles. Burst fire is the best.
2) What? What do Torgue guns take from my grenade? Because my current grenade (playing BL2 again on PS4) homes and creates a wormhole. If my gun could also do that, that'd be amazing.

They don't take from grenades, but any skill you have that boosts grenade damage will also boost a Torgue.
Dahl SMGs are great (I generally prefer them in that particular form, Bane aside), but that's about as far as I'll go.
The SMGs are definitely solid performers, especially the plasma casters.
The seraph AR is halfway decent, the hornet's superb. The grenades are god tier. I ran a Dahl Maya for a little while and it was all around serviceable.
Got decent weapons for Athena. A fire Tediore laser has been working out well and I like that it also deals some shock damage after it's thrown.

Friends and I picked BL2 back up to get through OP 8 finally.
OP 7 was waaay harder for us. Part of it was because on 8, one of the two Saturns got stuck on a building, and we just lured the other one up a hill and focused on him.
I'd settle for making it level-dependent instead of story-dependent. It really disincentivizes me from doing sidequests at the proper level because I know in 2 chapters I'm getting another weapon SDU and by that point the side quest is trivial so I never do it.

So last night when it kept popping up that you were playing TPS, was that you quitting and restarting to grind out Lunes?
the game is just not good enough to merit it

1/3rd of her skills literally do not function without a second player, so uh, maybe not the best unless you really like sniping and/or cry damage
EDIT: Jack is super-broken though, if you want to be a god

Indeed. That would be a great pre-order bonus: all weapon slots unlocked from the start of the game.
I would also accept beating the game once to allow subsequent playthroughs to start with all slots available.
