I could cut the tournament window down by half an hour or more to limit the number of "easy races" you can score by joining late. If enough people care about that. This tournament is for funsies, though, so I hope I don't see anyone getting too worked up about it.

Meh, I don't think it's that big of a deal. I'd rather more people have the chance to participate. I think 2 hours is a pretty good window without being too long. I tried 3 hours on the Wednesday tournament once and I think that was probably too much, but much shorter than two and it might be limiting who's able to participate.
Plus, I like playing against the hardest competition. You guys make me a better player! And also humiliate me terribly!

Polls are now open for PA G&T SundayDrivers Week 16 tournament race settings. If you are planning to participate this Sunday, I highly encourage you to vote! I will be cutting off the votes at some arbitrary time on Friday or Saturday. Probably.
Mid-week tournament is happening tonight as usual from 9:00 - 11:00 PM Central. I'm currently in San Francisco without my dearest Mario Kart, but hopefully you guys will have fun karting it up in my absence.
Rules are Normal Items, 150cc, Normal CPU, etc. It'll probably stay this way for a couple more weeks until we get moved into our new house.

I found myself cursing out loud at multiple uses of LIGHTNING this tournament. Seemed every race there was at least one, and sometimes two. So, so infuriating.

The lightning seemed to get me just after I picked up an item every time. At least it wasn't over a pit like it usually is.
The amount of triple red shells in the top positions seemed high this week too. I got them as an item at least twice and was on the receiving end more than that.

I tend to get the Crazy 8 in 2nd or 3rd place and it always backfires. I blow myself up and somebody steals the star. Then I run over the squid and blind myself for good measure.
I got the Crazy 8 twice while in 3rd in one of those races. Whenever I get it I mash the item button and use them all at once, otherwise something happens and I lose it all (like someone bumps into the bomb and blows us both up).

Oh my god I had somehow scrubbed this from my memory. That may have been my lowest point in Mario Kart yet.
