Man, at first I did not like the power up I got, The Ludovico Technique. It made it so you have one big tear floating around that you control with the other stick.
But I realized you can just make it hover on whatever you're attacking, and massively bring down its health. Just beat Mom basically using that and like one power upgrade.
I love the vignetting they added to the uterus. Makes it so much ickier crawling around in your mom's womb now.
As someone who knows next to nothing about this game, posts like this sure are a thing
The first six levels are fairly standard dungeon designs.
The boss on level six is mom, and once you beat her you unlock another two level stage after that, called The Womb, which is exactly what it sounds like.

I came super close to beating Mom just now, thanks to Daddy Long Legs carrying me most of the way
I don't have much trouble with Mom, but so far I haven't even reached Mom's Heart yet.
It's frustrating.
Also I've upgraded the shop a bit, and unlocked a couple items, but I have no idea what new stuff is available as a result.
Also in the past few playthroughs I've had monstro's lung, tiny planet, and soy milk
soy milk is obnoxious by itself, but monstro's lung is pretty fun.
Tiny Planet is neat for dealing with swarms of enemies, but it makes fighting some enemies MUCH more difficult, such as Globins and other fast aggressive enemies.
I got to the heart on the next run with Lazarus, but a lot of stupid mistakes killed my collection of spirit hearts so it was basically a matter of doing a perfect heart kill which was not doable.

But there's this new beggar follower that eats dropped hearts, and gives you a soul heart for each full heart he devours.
It's pretty awesome.
Also the game was louder than I realized and it gets kind of hard to hear me sometimes but I fixed that in my next session.

Still died, but I got to the womb which was not expected.
That is to say the slowdown was super frustrating, I actually got killed cause I'm real bad at this!
Dude is absoultely crazy fun.
Somewherre around the depths I found the teleporter, which I lucked out with a few times.
Ended up teleporting into the devil room on level 8 so I skipped mom's heart entirely and murdered Satan.

It had two locks on the door, and going in there was a giant pattern of a die with the 4 dotted side facing up, and a gray chest up top.
Then the whole room went dark and rumbly then it went back to normal and nothing happened.
Very weird.
